GGuest UserThe Yitel in Taicang is a fantastic hotel. From the great front desk staff allowing us a bit of an early check in, to the wonderful breakfast, great room with a lovely big bathtub, to the very warm and friendly housekeeping and restaurant staff, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Yitel. We have been staying at many hotels over the last few months in China, and this hotel is a standout. The location in central Taicang is great, with a shopping mall and Walmart right across the street, and many other shops, restaurants, banks, and more within easy walking distance. Our large Queen room was great - very large, incredibly comfortable and well appointed - and, again, the great big bathtub was a special treat. There is a great in house laundry - most importantly, the best dryer we have used at a ny of the hotels we have stayed in. Great hotel and would highly recommend.

JJingerTravel with family. The room is quite big and clean. It has the characteristics of an ancient castle. It is in the German style street. It is very exotic. There is a musical fountain at the door. It is very German. German restaurants, German buildings, small bars, all in the style street. It is in the third phase of the style street. There are more restaurants in the second phase. It is not far to walk. Parking is free for 4 hours. The room is very sailor-style. The walls of the room are also navy-style. It may be because Taicang is the anchorage of Zheng He's voyage to the West. The blue ocean room is very comfortable. The front desk upgraded the lake view room to face the lake. It is very comfortable to walk by the lake at night. The set meal includes afternoon tea, coffee and puffs. The only shortcoming may also be because it is in the German Street. The underground garage is connected to the park. The garage can directly enter and exit the hotel room floor without swiping the room card. It feels not very safe. I hope it will be improved.

The room is clean and tidy, fully equipped, and the bed is comfortable and relaxing. The service staff is enthusiastic and responsive, which left a deep impression. The food in the restaurant is delicious and varied. Overall, it was a very satisfactory stay.

2) Rated non smoking but as usual, every room has ash tray and allows guests to smoke. Luckily my room has no cigarette smell, however once the air con is turned on, strong cigarette smell start coming out from the ventilation. I rather sleep through 5 degree without heating than killing my lung.
3) Corridor and room very old, damages everywhere

The main issue is that all rooms are in the second floor and it could be noisy in the middle of the night or early morning because people just like to talk loud while going to or from their rooms passing by all other rooms! Maybe a sign that says “please keep quiet in the corridor” can help a bit!

GGuest UserIt is most convenient to stay at this 7-Day Hotel when you come to the People's Hospital for business. You can cross a road to get there. The hotel is cheap and clean, just like a fast hotel. The hotel has a laundry room, which is suitable for people on long-term business trips. There are restaurants and fruit shops to the north of the hotel, so it is very convenient for eating and shopping. There is an Internet cafe and billiard room downstairs in the hotel, so you can play billiards when you have nothing to do at night. It's a great experience!

After arriving at the store, the front desk Anna quickly checked me in and reminded me of the itinerary. She was warm and thoughtful. This time, our two families chose two room types, and the experience is as follows:
1. 🏠Triangular Tree House: The design of the suspended wooden house is like a fairy tale scene. The attic climbing ladder allows children to become ”jungle explorers”. The viewing window can enjoy the wheat field. It is suitable for families over 4 years old, but it should be noted that the gap between the attic stairs is large, and it is recommended that young babies sleep on the lower floor.
2. ♨️Private Bath Room: The attic bathing pool is matched with the starry sky ceiling, and the bubble bath gel is given away. Children love to play. The bed is facing the balcony and the small train track. In the early morning, watching the ”Jianghai” crossing the rapeseed field, the romance value is full.
The hotel's infinity pool was not open when we went there. It is said that it will be open soon. If it is open, it should be very good.

- Equipment: small shovel + small bucket, wear non-slip gloves, wear one-piece shoes or river tracing shoes, and walk painlessly on the river beach.
- Golden time: 2 hours after low tide (the housekeeper will remind you), ⚠️Dig in the place where there are holes 🕳️ on the muddy river beach, and you will most likely get a small crab!
- Hidden Easter Egg: There is a giant ”Liuhe” landmark at the end of the Rainbow Road at the entrance of the river bank, which is super beautiful for taking photos📷

- Route: Crossing the countryside, orchards, and riverbanks, one-way 30 minutes, homestay residents buy tickets at the front desk for 35r (RMB 45).
- Time: The last train is at 17:30, it is recommended to take it before 16:00.

- Parent-child cycling: Borrow a bicycle to ride along the river bank and feel the pastoral scenery of river breeze and wheat waves.
- Tiger car and panda car (electric parent-child car): 120r per hour, I think it's a bit high, so I didn't rent it😂

💡 Practical tips for walking kids
1. Transportation: 1 hour direct drive from Shanghai, 15 minutes taxi from Taicang Station by high-speed rail.
2. Equipment: sun hat, river trekking shoes (to prevent mudflat gravel), mosquito repellent spray.
3. Safety: The stones on the river beach are sharp, and ordinary sandals are easy to scratch🪨There are no standard steps where you go down the river bank, so be careful when climbing up and down.
4. Dining: We had a meal at a newly opened barbecue restaurant by the river bank, barbecued around the stove🥩, the set meal was 400+ for six people, not bad, and it felt good outdoors.
For puffer fish🐡, it is recommended to go to the farmhouse near Liuhe Ancient Town. We ate at two or three restaurants, and the pufferfish was really delicious😍
