"I stayed at Midtown Richardson Taipei and overall the room cleanliness and hotel service were very good. The room was comfortable, tidy, and well-maintained, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. However, I had a disappointing experience at the breakfast restaurant. One morning, I noticed another guest accidentally dropped a piece of bread on the floor and placed it back into the food tray. I picked up the bread and handed it to one of the staff to alert her. Instead of acknowledging it, she gave me a black face, threw the bread into an empty tray, and continued with her work without any response. This left a very negative impression, especially since hygiene and customer service are important in a dining area. Overall, the hotel stay was pleasant, but I hope the breakfast restaurant staff can improve their attitude and professionalism in the future."

"Great location , a really busy hotel which cleaners miaa cleaning certain areas at the room sometimes I guess as I've found long hair from previous tenants inside the washroom and on the carpet. Will be great if they can boost their cleaning quality a little bit. Staff are friendly and helpful which is a plus. Many not bad restaurants within 5 mins walking distance too"

"The hotel is conveniently located next to Wanhua Train Station and just a short walk from Longshan Temple Metro Station. There are plenty of eateries in the surrounding neighborhood, making it easy to find meals nearby. Like many hotels in Taiwan, early check-in is not allowed, and all guests can only check in after 3 p.m. Check-in is done through a self-service machine, which feels somewhat impersonal for a hotel at this price point. The room is clean and modern, with a comfortable bed. However, it doesn’t provide complimentary bottled water; you’ll need to use the water dispenser next to the elevator.The gym is very small, equipped with just treadmills, and there’s also a small pool with a lifeguard on duty. Remember to bring a swimming cap if you plan to use the pool. There's also a play area for children which I didn't see anyone ever use."

"The hotel generously upgraded our rooms from twin single beds to twin double bed. The location is absolutely fantastic and strategic as it is located just across major transportation nodes for HSR, Local Train and Metro. The rooms may look a bit dated but if aesthetic isnt a major concern, all else considered, it was a convenient and pleasant stay."

"The hotel is great, very clean, the staff are very nice. I stayed at the suite which was a very big room and had a great view. The lounge was ok but I prefer less unhealthy snacks and more fruits/ healthy stuff in it. The pool was not heated and it was a bit cold. Also the last night my room had noises all night long. Like metal to metal noises which cause me not to sleep all night long. The staff were nice but didn’t really compensate for this horrible night I had no sleep at all besides promising to a late check out or upgrade next time I book. Which is more of a promotion than a real compensation. Too bad that left a bit a bitter taste to a nice stay so far. I’m in Taipei once or twice a year and I wish they were more attentive to my complaint and lack of sleep."

"Not bad of a hotel, clean and ameneties are there the usual stuff. Hotel exterior seems new but room interior is slightly of age, not those mordern 4star room you see outside now that cost 2x more the price. Aircon not as cold, need adjustments by their staff. Can only shower at bathtub, quite a hassle to climb in and out of it and careful not to slip. Overall i will rate it 4/5."

"I frequently visit Taipei, but this was my first time staying at the Grand Hotel. Its vibrant red aesthetic is incredibly captivating; every time the MRT passes by, I can't help but take an extra look. My direct experience staying here was excellent. Even though it was a windowless room, it didn't feel stuffy at all, and there were no odors, which shows how diligently the hotel manages its rooms. The breakfast spread was exceptionally rich – I ate for an hour and was completely stuffed! You can also visit the secret tunnels; this time I went to the East Secret Tunnel. It cost 500 TWD, and you can book it at a counter near the hotel's front desk."

"Perhaps one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in! The location is incredibly convenient, just a 10-15 minute walk from Ximending station, making it easy to explore the area. The room was spacious and well-appointed, complete with complimentary bottled water. I appreciated that the housekeeping staff cleaned the room daily, provided you didn’t activate the ‘do not disturb’ button. The hotel features a unique underwater or submarine theme, which adds a fun and immersive atmosphere. I booked a room without windows, and while the lighting was somewhat dim, it created a cozy ambiance that I found quite pleasant. The receptionists were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests. A thoughtful addition to the hotel is the luggage scale available for guests, allowing you to weigh your bags before checking out—definitely a great touch! We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which I would rate a perfect 10/10! There was an impressive variety of food options, including a delightful hotpot selection. The bathroom facilities were well-designed, with the toilet and shower room separated for added convenience. They provided complimentary body wash and shampoo, and I was pleased to see that the bed sheets were changed daily, ensuring a fresh and clean environment throughout my stay. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent location, friendly service, and thoughtful amenities!"

"This hotel location is very good as it is opposite Taipei train and bus station. Need to look carefully for signage as you may go to wrong hotel. Room is clean but no windows. Not so convenient if you need to work on your laptop. Free drinks, croissant and snacks - i only tried the coffee and package juice which are okay. Cup noodles available at certain period in the evening - didn't try as one can go to nearby night market."
