Taitung County is the third largest county in Taiwan. Due to its high temperatures throughout the year, Taitung is also known as the hometown of the sun. Taitung County is the region with the richest aboriginal culture in Taiwan, and signs of the earliest cultures trace back to the Paleolithic era.
