Traveling with my family to Taiyuan, I chose to stay at the Taiyuan Marriott Hotel, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations – we were extremely satisfied. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were gentle and polite. We encountered a minor issue during our stay, but the hotel responded very quickly and resolved the problem efficiently and appropriately. Their attitude towards problem-solving and their professionalism were truly impressive! The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was comfortable, allowing my mother to rest very well. The facilities were well-maintained, and the overall environment was quiet and elegant. The location is convenient for getting around, making it easy to visit attractions like Jinci Temple, the Provincial Museum, and Zhonglou Street. The hotel's breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, including a full spread of local Shanxi specialties, as well as both northern and southern Chinese flavors. There were Chinese congees and dim sum, Western pastries, fresh fruits, and hot and cold beverages – truly everything you could imagine. There were light and soft grain porridges and steamed items suitable for elders, as well as desserts and drinks that kids would love. The live noodle station allowed us to customize toppings and seasonings as we liked, and the flavors were authentic. We enjoyed a satisfying breakfast every day. Beyond its excellent facilities, the Marriott also boasts a service team that takes initiative and genuinely cares for its guests, which is even more commendable. This made our entire trip feel complete!

Overall, my stay was quite good. I received a free room upgrade and executive lounge access, and it felt like almost every request was met. The entire hotel is very pet-friendly. My beloved pet has cancer, and this was its last trip, so I brought it here for two days. I hope it remembers this moment forever. Almost everyone who saw my pet complimented how cute it was, which truly touched me. Both the duty manager and the front desk staff were incredibly friendly. Thank you all for helping my pet create beautiful memories. Finally, the hotel's photography service captured precious photos for us. A special thanks to the duty manager, whose WeChat name is GMS; he genuinely tried his best to fulfill all requests. I will definitely come back again, and let this love and warmth remain at the Marriott Shanxi.

Traveling with kids, waiting is always the biggest headache, but this time, from the moment we arrived, it was full of pleasant surprises. Front desk staff Aria was not only warm and professional but also had an amazing ability to observe—she immediately noticed the child with us and pulled out a lollipop to soothe them. Andy then kindly pointed out the location of the lobby parrot, successfully distracting the child and instantly easing the anxiety of waiting for our room. Even more thoughtful, Carl saw we had a lot of luggage and proactively came to help, smiling throughout. This made the tedious check-in process easy and pleasant. This feeling of being welcomed like family was very thoughtful, and we felt very comfortable. We immediately decided to stay two more days to fully enjoy our trip. Plus, the evenings in Taiyuan are lovely and cool. We'll definitely choose this place again next time because everyone here feels like an old friend.

The hotel service was really great. Because I had a high-speed train at 5 PM, the hotel helped me arrange a 3 PM late checkout. Also, when I called to check in, they had a room and helped me check in early. Room service was very responsive, and the breakfast overall was pretty good. This stay was excellent!

The hotel's location is decent, not too far from most attractions, but the entrance is extremely congested. It's inconvenient that you have to switch elevators to get to the parking lot for a 20+ story hotel, and there are very few ground parking spaces available. The lounge staff, even with interns, provided excellent service, and the hotel's cleaning staff were also very polite. However, the doorman's attitude was absolutely terrible, absolutely terrible, absolutely terrible. They repeatedly demanded to see my room card and booking confirmation, even tapping on my car window with a walkie-talkie. If the hotel management doesn't want to deal with it, they can lose their license. This is my first extremely low rating and negative review on Trip.com. I want to reiterate that this negative review is primarily directed at the hotel's concierge. The rest of the hotel staff performed excellently. Guests arriving by car should pay particular attention to this.

Pros: Great location, decent price, and the room was quite new overall. The front desk service was quick and excellent. Cons: Parking was cramped, sharing space with a shopping mall. The doorman service was exceptionally poor, constantly shooing cars away. The bathtub in the room was broken, but thankfully, the repair was quite prompt. The breakfast was very disappointing overall; they stopped replenishing food by 10 AM, and the taste was mediocre. Overall, it's at the lower end of Marriott standards, more business-oriented, with many details falling short.

I was very satisfied with my stay. I booked a deluxe suite, and since I was traveling with my baby, the front desk lady kindly upgraded us to a space-themed suite for free, which I really appreciated. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a nice view of Taiyuan's city streets outside. The evening dessert hour at the executive lounge was abundant and delicious; my family even had dinner there.
