Went with my kids and friends. We booked the dinner and breakfast package at the hotel, and the food was pretty good, but the kids barely ate anything, which felt a bit wasteful, though the portions were decent. I managed to sneak a few photos of the hot spring when no one was around, forgot if it was morning or afternoon. The view facing the mountains is absolutely stunning! The water was a bit too hot though; I could only stay in for a short while before getting out. Overall, the hotel is nice.

Extremely satisfied! The hot springs were fantastic, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious. The service attitude was excellent, and the location was very convenient. They even came out in heavy snow to help with our luggage. The rooms were also great. Highly recommend! I booked two rooms, so I'm commenting twice.

Nice place, hot springs r great, the location was amazing for hiking and sightseeing. My only complaints was that the hotel was super old but that is a personal opinion thing so its up to personal preferences. It was pretty clean with great service and friendly staff, even with me and my friend being foreign and not speaking a lick of japanese. If you are looking for a comfortable mountain resort with a traditional japanese feel and easy access to the mountains I would recommend this!!

Beautiful hotel with wonderful service. The onsens were well cared for and we had them to ourselves. The views of the mountains and river from the onsen were spectacular. The food was great and transitional to Japan. We loved our the stay in the traditional Ryokan. Probably our best stay of the trip.

The assigned room was not the one I booked. Instead of East Wing with a mountain view, I got assigned to South Wing, not sure if it is a mountain view but definitely not what I expected (I will attach a photo). But generally, I still had a fantastic experience there. The location is great for me because it is near Shinhotaka Ropeway. The open air onsen was beautiful, I liked it a lot, and went every night. The food was fantastic too! I am not well versed with Japanese food culture, but basically it was the traditional course meal (only dinner) you probably will have in a decent Japanese restaurant. I am a vegetarian, the hotel is prepared for my diet every breakfast and dinner. I must say I am really amazed with their food culture and knife skill. Their front desk was helpful with my needs too like a nail cutter, plaster etc.

The front desk service was poor, the hallway was a mess with shoes everywhere, and the food wasn't good. Compared to other onsen hotels in Hirayu, you can really see the difference.

The hotel views were great, but the outdoor mixed-gender onsen wasn't as good without snow in winter. The food was average, not as amazing as I'd hoped. The outdoor hot spring was a bit small; it would be hard to enjoy if there were many people. We ran into a ********* tour group, but thankfully we managed to go at different times. However, it was very thoughtful of them to call our room at 9 AM to save us breakfast, as we missed it going to the outdoor hot springs early. I'm very grateful for that.

After getting off at the H57 stop of the Nohi Bus Shinhotaka Line, hotel staff were already waiting at the station to help with luggage. The hotel has a long history, with a Western-style building. Rooms are available in both Western and Japanese tatami styles. The rooms face Mt. Hotaka directly, with the Miyagawa River flowing gently below, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. This onsen hotel in the mountains offers excellent value for money. The Hida beef dinner cuisine is fresh and delightful, making it definitely worth staying for a night.
