Hotel Around Takayama, Ascend Hotel Collection

The hotel is brand new and beautifully designed. It's also conveniently located close to the station, just a 5-minute walk to catch the Nohi Bus daily. There's a public bath on the second floor; it's not huge but very clean.

Traveling with young children and seniors, the hotel's location was excellent. It's probably just a two-minute walk from Takayama JR and the bus station, and there's a FamilyMart nearby, which is very convenient. The hotel has a small hot spring, which was nice and relaxing. Breakfast is a set meal, and it's quite filling. However, the cleanliness of the room could be improved; the carpet felt a bit dirty.

The location is convenient, right next to the bus station, making it easy to get anywhere. There are many restaurants nearby, and it's also close to the old town. The price is quite affordable. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my stay at the hotel.

The room size was perfectly satisfactory, just enough space for two 24-inch suitcases. The hotel also has a large public bath on the second floor, which is a nice touch. You can rent electric-assist bicycles right outside the hotel for 500 JPY per hour, or 1000 JPY for three hours. Takayama is a very small city, so cycling is ideal for those who prefer not to walk! The hotel's location is super convenient, just a 1-minute walk from Takayama Station!

It's quite close to the station, about a 5-minute walk from the exit. I specifically chose this room type with a separate bathroom, but the toilet takes up a lot of space, so if that bothers you, don't pick this one. Also, there's no small table in the room, only a chair in front of the TV cabinet, which makes it very inconvenient if you want to buy some BBQ and beer to eat back in the room. The staff were very friendly, which is commendable. Lastly, I'd like to know why the accommodation tax in Takayama hotels is so much higher than in other hotels...

The location is fantastic! It's about an 8-minute walk to the Nohi Bus Center, which was perfect for my friend and I, as we often cut it close to departure time, haha. It was also super convenient to drop off our shopping at the hotel before heading out again. I'd definitely consider staying here next time I visit!

Just a 2-minute walk from the station, the location is super convenient. However, the soundproofing in the rooms isn't great. On the plus side, the front desk staff were very welcoming.

The room was spacious and even had a hot spring bath. It's super convenient, right next to the Nohi Bus and JR station, just about 100 meters away – a really quick walk. The room itself was adorable! You can explore all of Takayama on foot from here, and it's about 1.7 km from Hie Shrine.
