Traditional ryukan with futon beds and shared public baths with buffet breakfast and dinner included. Whilst I enjoyed my first ryukan experience it may not be for everyone, the building is older and the cost is quite pricey for a family in my case anyway. Would still come again. We stayed here for two nights. The island is beautiful and I had a nice view of the rabbits and the ocean from the window. You can also rent bicycles at a reasonable cost. They don't sell rabbit food so you might want to prepare your own before you come to the island. I'm vegan and whilst they did say to ask the staff to show you which items were vegan at the buffets there really wasn't much choice especially at dinner. Maybe I should have made a special request before I arrived. There's no vegan food available for lunch at the cafe, so you'd need to bring your own food

Great family experience. I read all the reviews and was worried that the room had no attached bath, emailed the hotel with all the questions I had and made all the preparations for my kids. Lord and behold I was assigned THE ROOM with attach bath right next to the Onsen! It was incredible for a family of four. They have a common toilet as well so if the one in the room is occupied, I just walk out to the common one that is well maintained. The staff here speaks good English and were extremely helpful. The breakfast, lunch and dinner at the one and only restaurant here were incredible. While they do not have a wide variety, they made it up with the quality! Delicious is an understatement! Ask the receptionist everything and seek their advise on everything you want to do. They will tell you the best timings and areas to experience the most bunnies! Their weather forecast is spot on too. The only downside is the room smell of bunny food, but this is expected as this island is basically about bunnies!

Unless you want to camp in a tent, this is the only accommodation option on Okunoshima. Next to the pier for landing on the island, there will be a shuttle bus that can go directly to the door of the hotel according to the ship's arrival time. Although the hotel's facilities are simple, they have everything you need; most rooms do not have bathrooms, so you have to take a shower. There are large public baths on both sides of the hotel. If you don't want to go to the large public bath, remember to reserve a Japanese and Western-style room with a bathroom. There is an area that provides simple meals in the lobby on the first floor, and there is a restaurant in the back that provides three meals a day. The restaurant is buffet style and the dishes are very rich and delicious. It is well worth it! In the evening and morning, the lobby also provides guided tours of the island, or there are also activities for children to draw in the lobby. Although it seems that there are many tourists who come to the island for a short time to play rabbits, but at night you will find that there are actually many people staying here for one night; it is highly recommended to stay one night on Okunoshima, and you can play on the island at any time Rabbit, before eating, after eating, before going to bed, after getting up, after breakfast, if you think of walking out of the hall at any time, there will be rabbits that are not allowed to come to you! In addition, you can also have enough time to walk around the island and enjoy the scenery!

This is my second time in Hiroshima and I have already visited the city, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and Miyaji, so this time I mainly stayed at Okunoshima for one night. I wanted to avoid buffets if possible, as most vacation villages these days tend to have buffets and I don't really like buffets, but if I arrived at Hiroshima from Haneda on the same day and took a day trip to Okunoshima, it would have been a hassle to travel from Tadanoumi to the place where I was staying, so I wanted to take it easy. So I chose Shimabuse. It was great to be able to hear explanations about the island at Kyukamura's unique events (sea firefly viewing, early morning tour). It was surprisingly full considering it was a weekday in the off-season, but there were quite a few solo customers, so it didn't feel crowded. The buffet started and ended 15 minutes longer to reduce crowding, but unfortunately some of the food was cold and hard even though we arrived right after it started. The live stage was also good, as was the tsuboyaki turban shell, Hiroshima beef, and tempu (although it wasn't piping hot). There were two stamp rallies, the Kyukamura restaurant and the shop. If you answer the online survey, you will receive a postcard of a rabbit. I had about 2,000 points that I had saved up that would expire in January, so it was nice to be able to use them for discounts.

There is only one accommodation facility on Okunoshima. Since it was summer, I made a reservation with a plan that included abalone, but the meal was so varied that I didn't even need it. Basically buffet style. The staff were courteous and we had a great time even though we were traveling with children. You can go and feed the rabbits at night or in the morning. If you are driving, you will need to park at the Tadanoumi Port parking lot. It's possible to get on the ferry, but you'll have to stop at the pier at Okunoshima Port, so it doesn't make much sense.

My wife and I both love rabbits, so this was our first visit to Okunoshima, where we can interact with wild rabbits. If you're from the neighborhood, it's a short 15-minute boat ride, so you can make a day trip, but we spent about 4 hours visiting, so we stayed overnight at Kyukamura Okunoshima, the only accommodation facility on the island. To be honest, the building is about 30 years old and there is a smell of the Showa era everywhere. The large communal bath is not well cleaned, and there is even moss in addition to the water scale. However, the front staff (young people) were amiable, so I gave them 3 out of 5 points. Even if the building is old, if it is properly cleaned and maintained, the impression will be different.
