In April 2024, we were part of a group which spent six nights at the Four Seasons Taormina. While the property is spectacular and meticulously maintained, what I remember most is the amazing staff. From the front desk and restaurants, to the bell service and housekeeping, I will remember the smiling faces and excellent service provided by everyone at the Four Seasons Taormina. Thank you, for making our trip to Mt. Etna so enjoyable.

No review is sufficient to adequately capture the splendor of this hotel. It is perfect in every possible way. Nestled overlooking the sea, the location and property itself could not be more ideal. The rooms are modern but the common spaces stay true to the history of the building which is a converted monastery. What separates this hotel from the pack and even other Four Seasons is the service. Lorenzo, Gabrielle, Anna, Carmen and all the others that played a special role in our vacation, we thank you for making everything so memorable.

From the moment we arrived to the time we left, it was an incredible experience. The hotel and setting are both stunningly beautiful, but it’s really the staff that makes this hotel exceptional. Everyone made us feel genuinely welcome and at home and seemed to be excited that we were enjoying it so much. They couldn’t do enough for us, with amazing attention to detail. I was there to celebrate a birthday and every department marked it in some way for me to make the day extra special. There are great restaurants nearby and the recommendations from the hotel were the best ones, and weren’t all fussy Michelin star (although there are plenty if that’s what you’re looking for) but the food at the hotel is also great. I nearly cried when it was time to leave because the whole week was out of this world. We’ll be back

We stayed at this incredible hotel for three nights, and it was a wonderful experience. Beautiful, historic, and elegant. We booked via Classic Travel and were upgraded to a huge suite. It was formerly a monastary, and they have maintained many of the great historic features, while upgrading to the newest technologies. Wonderful pool and outdoor dining, and superlative staff. The location is easy walking distance to all of Taormina's best sites. When we got home a week later, we were pleasantly suprised to see the hotel is the new location for White Lotus.

The location, food, staff and attention to detail are unsurpassed. Simply the best hotel experience I have ever had. We were treated like we were the only guests at the hotel. Cannot give enough compliments on every level of this hotel stay. The pool, the spa, the restaurant staff all exceptional. We did not want to leave the hotel. Will definitely return. We have traveled the world and have stayed at many high end hotels, and I can tell you that it doesn’t get any better than the San Domenico Palace. I highly recommend.

From our first contact to departure, this property and staff is outstanding. Anything you want or need will be provided. The views are fantastic and location close to town makes this hotel THE place to stay in Taormina.

The hotel grounds are beautiful, especially by the he pool, though the pool is extremely noisy if you sit near its edge due to the infinity pool's overflow drainage system. Hotel location is excellent to shopping and dining but plan on a very long walk to the water. Their breakfast buffet is lackluster but the menu breakfast is excellent. Beyond breakfast, their food leaves much to be desired. It is more pretentious than tasty. Our four-course dinner was cold and often bland. The staff is wonderful. The premium room with balcony and sea view was small but clean. At a couple thousand euro a night it feels a little insulting to get charged 22 euro for a nip of vodka from the mini bar. Stayed a week. Overall it was just fine.

We just returned home from an amazing 12 day trip to Sicily with our 2 college aged kids. We spent our last 5 days in Taormina and it was unanimously our favorite. The FS San Domenico Palace is a spectacular, magical place that we all loved. We stayed in the convento suite and my kids stayed in a double room on the Grand Hotel side — both sets of accommodations were excellent, the bathroom in the suite was particularly great. The towels and bathrobe are the softest we have ever felt, we only wish we could purchase them for our home! The location was perfect, for touring around Taormina on foot, for access to great local restaurants and as a jumping off point for touring the region. The service was excellent, when we had an issue with our AC, the hotel was extremely responsive, fixing it immediately and even comping us drinks while we waited for maintenance to finish. The in room dining staff went above and beyond to make sure we were set up on our terrace for dinners for 4, making sure we had a table large enough and chairs comfortable enough for the 4 of us. We all fell in love with Sicily, Taormina, and the FS San Domenico Palace and can’t wait to return!

Absolutely fantastic! The room with the small plunge pool with view on the sea was breathtaking, and since we were staying a week, they upgraded us for free. The main pool is large and you can see the Etna, and the restaurant by the pool is fantastic, albeit on the expensive side but hey, it’s a Four Seasons. Service incredible, maybe breakfast waiters are a but slow (the coffee mainly), but that was the only “complaint”. It is the best hotel in Taormina, beautifully refurbished and stunning. If you have the budget, do not hesitate on this one. Side note, easy access to downtown for restaurants, walks and basically chilling out.
