Hotel Villa Schuler

Wonderful location close to everything in Taormina and overlooking the sea. You do have walk up quite a few steps to get to most of the shops and restaurants, but it was not that difficult. The staff is friendly, helpful and excellent overall. The only downside for us (and the only reason it's rated 4 instead of 5) is the ridiculously small bathroom and shower. I'm talking cruise- ship sized small. But overall a great experience.

Great find in the center of Taormina! By car it was a little difficult to find as there was a sign that we were not allowed to enter a street.. it said trafico limitado. We called the hotel and they informed us it was ok to drive in as we had a reservation, thanks for the advise. Anyway, lovely place 1 minute walk to the main street. Beautiful garden, nice terrace, great staff and a safe parking place, very rare in the center. Room was nice, great bed, a massage shower that we did not need and did not work too well either. Definitely recommended!

One of the best hotels I've stayed in. From the location, to the hotel's layout and characterful rooms, to the beautiful garden and sea views, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Taormina. Enjoy breakfast on the terrace and try out the hotel's strawberry granita - it's delicious, as is their apricot jam, which I bought to bring home as it was too good. The hotel's staff are very nice and it's well located to access all the key sites in Taormina as long as you like walking. There's steps leading up to the hotel and leading up to the main tourist pedestrian area - but it's a beautiful stroll. I highly recommended this hotel. I had a great stay.

We had our wedding at Villa Schuler. We are from Denmark but got engaged in Taormina so it was our wish to get married there also. Claudia who was the manager went way beyond our expectations - she made sure we had a perfect day and took care of everything! We planned the wedding a year in advance and it was always easy to reach her, which was super helpful because she helped us to fix a photographer, hair and make up etc. We had 3 course menu which we could choose ourselves and the food and service was very good. All in all, We had such a great wedding. I can only recommend for anyone who wishes to get married in Taormina.

I never write reviews but this hotel went BEYOND our expectations. The employees are amazing, the location couldn’t be any better, the grounds and views are STUNNING. I don’t have any complaints at all. This hotel made Taormina even greater than I thought my trip would be

The Villa Schuler is not a hotel/ resort stay rather something far more intimate and beautiful in every way. It feels like you’re being hosted at a family/ friend’s luxury villa. The staff were absolutely amazing and did everything perfectly. They weren’t overbearing but never lost when needed. Absolutely impeccable service and although fully booked it felt as if we were the only guests. There are multiple places one can enjoy the breathtaking views. Rooftop terrace is open until midnight and was generally empty. The garden was expansive with something new and beautiful to discover on every stroll. The back terrace. Words only can do so much justice. Truly the most proper way to experience Taormina. Just steps to the town and if there’s anything even slightly out of reach the staff is always quick to arrange transport. Our room was spacious with great views and accommodations. Anyone that calls them dated is missing the point of staying in a historic villa in a historic town. It’s not to say the property isn’t meticulously maintained and updated, rather not overdone where it would take away from the character. Stunning in every way.

We had a 4 night stay in Taormina towards the end of a fortnight's vacation on Sicily and Taormina provided the perfect ending after stays in Palemro and near Syracusa. A traditional hotel perched high on the cliffside overlooking the sea. The staff are wonderful - well trained, engaging and courteous making our stay most enjoyable from restaurant recommendations to attending to our every need. The hotel is well place near the bustling main streets of Taormina. Our suite, though lovely and functional was in a dark corner of shade (direct sun for less than an hour each day). SO we did not use the loungers too much! However more than compensated by the excellent service they recommended to transporting us to/from a nearby beach - transport there and back; day on the beach; loungers/brolly/welcome drink etc for less than ¢50. Convenient snack bar/restaurant. Breakfast was a lovely feature, on the terrace, overlooking the ocean. Service by the wonderful staff. Why bother with the complicated pricing for breakfast? Almost detracted from the experience. Appreciate the was probably for the group parties who stayed there. Bit of flexibility or 'breakfast built-in' would have been an added pleasure. All in all a great end to a memorable vacation on Sicliy and Hotel Villa Schuler was a vivid reminder of past service at a world class standard. Loved it!

We decided to elevate our game and enjoy our anniversary at a luxury (but reasonable priced) hotel. We were not disappointed. Top floor corner room with a deck large enough for two lounges, and two chairs with a small table. We had a full sea view from our room and a view of the sea and a snow capped Mt. Etna while enjoying an excellent breakfast on the terrace. The staff were extremely warm, courteous, and helpful. If it wasn't thousands of miles away from home I'd be here every year.

After a lot of planning, I brought my group of 15 guests to stay in May of 2023. Mr. Schuler and his manager Claudia could not have been more gracious and accommodating, from the detailed planning process to our actual stay. We were greeted as a group with a lovely aperitivo on the terrace and my guests were immediately dazzled by the stunning setting. The service was incredible and the breakfasts were prepared fresh and were as healthy or indulgent as my guests desired. Pro-tip: try the buffalo milk yogurt: divine! Best of all, the setting for our classes could not have been more magnificent: a rooftop terrace at sunset, a garden terrace for the morning. All of my guest commented on the luxurious feel of the rooms, and the hotel is right in the middle of town so it’s easy to send guests out on their own for dinner.
