Villa Sant'Andrea, A Belmond Hotel, Taormina Mare

Stunning property right on the beach. Amazing restaurants and bars. Brizza is a phenomenal dining experience for true foodies. Staff are the best in the business. They make you feel like family and ensure every experience is amazing. An incredible vacation overall. We will definitely be back again.

This is an excellent hotel with excellent staff and service. The location is wonderful with views of the sea and its own private beach. The rooms are very well equipped, almost too much as there was not a huge amount of space for your own belongings! Super comfortable bed and exquisite linens with lovely little touches like a small wellness gift or chocolate at turndown. The Dyson hairdryer in the room was much appreciated however my only small gripe was there was not enough hangers in the wardrobe, it seems most people stay only a few days but as we were there a week the hangers weren’t reflective of this. We had a terrace rather than a balcony which was lovely with Sun loungers and a bistro table and chairs, giving us the option of where to relax and catch the sun. However, the beach was great, yes it’s shingle but the service is impeccable and the addition of flip flops and a beach bag in the room was a really nice surprise. We had a hire car and had already read about the valet parking being expensive, it was, but it’s a good option for the first day until you find your bearings, but alternative parking is also expensive, however if you’re prepared to check first thing or last thing you might find a free option on the road, which we did. Due to the free shuttle bus into Taormina and the cable car you really don’t need a car,the shuttle bus takes 20-25 minutes and the cable car a little over 5, so we used the bus to go up and the cable car back. A separate word about the breakfast, if you’re thinking about missing it, don’t! The service is exceptional and the food is not only superb but mini works of art, particularly all the pastries and mini patisseries, and try the pan fried brioche with vanilla custard, it is amazing! Also, a huge mention to Roberta the hostess at breakfast, she made you feel like you were dining in her house and wanted you to be relaxed and had everything you needed without being overbearing. However, every member of staff we encountered was friendly and helpful without it being forced which was the difference.

Villa Sant’Andrea was beyond anything we could have imagined. My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon here and they rolled out the red carpet for us. We were welcomed with a bottle of Prosecco and a cake to celebrate our honeymoon. The view from our room was unbelievable and we were so lucky to have a private terrace to enjoy it every morning. The staff was inviting and informative. Particularly, Roberta at the restaurant was very helpful, friendly, and made my wife and I feel extremely welcomed. She had amazing recommendations as well! The pool and beach are unreal and the bar had an amazing lounge singer. Drinks and food are a bit pricey compared to restaurants and bars in town, but the service is unmatched. Our last night we made a reservation for Brizza which was a waterfront dining experience with the chef’s tasting menu. It was delicious and a highlight of our stay. Overall, we had an amazing stay and we would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in Taormina. We will be back!

This hotel had everything you’d want and more out of a luxury stay. The beds were top notch, the service was anticipatory, showing up with things before you’d even realize that you would want them, and the view was unparalleled. 5/5

This hotel is the smaller sister of the hilltop Timeo and enjoys a shuttle bus between them. During our two visits the place was more welcoming than the Timeo with young energetic staff who were a joy- Roberta and Marcela saved the day as rain set in. Check if room rates include VAT- supposedly Belmond rates do not, but I can find no explicit reference in any room rates. We enjoyed the Santa Andrea!

The location is splendid, the hotel is pretry much well decorated, with spacious rooms, awesome beach and swimming pool area and a lovely atmosfhere and team.

I've stayed at other Belmond properties, and it's usually the service and extreme care that shines, however, at the Villa Sant'Andrea, I felt it was average at best. The property, room, and food were incredible, however, for a luxury property, I was expecting exceptional service. We dined at their sister property the Timeo, and immediately felt it was a HUGE step up in service. If I were to rebook a trip to Taoromina, I would book the Four Season or the Timeo....the price is pretty much the same.
