R2 Bahia Playa - Adults Only

Hotel was very good. Spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Food has a decent range of options with something for everyone. Only 3 stars because the decking area round the pool was past needing repairs (was bad enough last year and not been dealt with). Also, overbooking meant that 2 of our friends (not booked as a group) ended up elsewhere for 2 nights and the manager was not available at that time. We did catch him later in the week and he said decking repairs were imminent. However, after emailing for an update before booking again for next year, this still hasn't been tackled and he us unable to tell us an exact date for this. Would be more than happy to return but not until decking made safe.

First time in the Canaries and very pleased with this hotel. Good salad options and drinks, meats on the poorer side. Quite clean. Staff very kind and helpful, especially Rafael who works in the restaurant. Jamal was also excellent at engaging guests - thank you! Lots of cute cats around which was a big plus for me. Staff kind enough to let me practice spanish with them too! Yes there are a few bits of the hotel that are older (decking, some signage) but that didn't effect out stay in the least. Coffee hack: put an extra shot of espresso in your cappuccino at the machines- it fits!

The hotels and most staff were great but the wooden decking around all the pools was in a disgusting and dangerous state. We complained to staff who said they were aware and trying to get it repaired. I later found out from a staff member in confidence that it had been that way for over a year. No staff were interested.. there were holes, trip hazards and nails. You couldn’t walk around the pools (all 3) barefoot . Absolutely disgraceful. Would never go here again because of the dangers of the decking and of the attitude of the staff we mentioned it to. All other aspects of the hotel were ok

A quiet location but just what we were looking for. Greeted by friendly, helpful reception staff on arrival, room was lovely, well layed out & clean with a sea view (highly recommend paying the bit more for sea views & balcony). Plenty of variety at meal times, although does cater more for German cuisine rather than English, with a well set out dining room that didn't feel over crowded. To summarise a clean, friendly, quiet Hotel, we enjoyed it so much we are going back at the end of May!

Our holiday at R2 Bahía Playa Design Hotel & Spa in Fuerteventura was a wonderful experience overall. The spa was definitely a highlight, offering cozy heated chairs (two of them were not working when we were there unfortunately, but the rest was) with a calming view on the coastline and a lovely massage that left us feeling completely relaxed. We also appreciated having breakfast outside on the terrace in the sunshine, and the desserts at the restaurant we found delicious. The animation team at the pool added a nice touch to the atmosphere, making our time there enjoyable. However, it was a bit of a challenge to find a sunny spot by the pool, as most of the sunbeds remained shaded throughout the day. This made us wonder about the layout of the pool areas. Choosing a room with a sea view was worth the extra cost, as it came with a lovely balcony equipped with two sunbeds facing the sea, compensating for the lack of sunny spots by the pools. On the downside, we found the drinks at the bars, especially the cocktails, to be disappointing. They seemed premade by a machine and lacked the luxurious vacation feeling we expected. The water in the pools was a bit too cold for my taste, especially because we came not in the peak of summer. Furthermore, the wellness area perhaps needs some love of a good handyman, since not everything was working as it should during our time there. On the other side, we had a lot of fun during a DJ evening in the club of the hotel, where all ages are welcome, and the friendliness of the staff was heart-warming. Despite the tranquil surroundings of the hotel, which didn't offer much in terms of activities, we enjoyed a day trip to Morro Jable, which added a nice day activity to our stay. Overall, our time at R2 Bahía Playa Design Hotel & Spa was enjoyable, providing relaxation, good amenities, and some memorable moments.

Just returned from this excellent hotel which exceeded all my expectations. We stayed in the fantasy suites to the rear of the hotel and the standard of accommodation is excellent. Well kept gardens and pool area and the staff are friendly and efficient. The standard of the food is very good and varied. The hotel is very good value for money with a spa,steam rooms etc. The area is very quiet and a great place to explore from. Cannot fault this hotel.

From the moment my husband and I arrived, we knew we had stumbled upon a gem of a hotel. We purposely chose this hotel as we wanted a quiet, relaxing break and R2 Bahia Playa certainly gave us that! The staff were polite, friendly, professional and incredibly hard-working. From the restaurant team to the gardeners, everyone there worked hard to keep the hotel looking immaculate and give their guests an amazing experience. Our room was lovely, with a lounge area, balcony and a partial sea view. It could be noisy on occasion, as we were near the delivery entrance to the hotel, but it wasn't too distracting. The food was excellent. As previous reviews have mentioned, fish and pork are featured on the menu each day, but there were also other dishes available, including chicken, beef and a huge range of pasta, rice, salads, vegetables etc. We stayed at the hotel for my 50th birthday, and a really nice touch was the bottle of wine and birthday cake left in my room. We also had two visits to the hotel spa. Not included in the all inclusive offer, but worth every single penny! Roughly £25 for the two of us each visit, it really added something special to our holiday.

Just back from an excellent week in the sun here. Everything was exactly what we wanted for some R & R. Fab room overlooking the sea (Top Tip - pay for the sea view upgrade - so worth it) Our Terrace had a table , chairs & sun-beds. Only sounds were from the Atlantic & the doves. Great staff & food in the restaurant . Special mention for Saul & Dario. Enjoyed a morning in the Thermal Spa. Thank you all ! PS only reason for 4 * is the decking around the pool areas needs attention .

We had a lovely stay and really felt at home away from home. The hotel is lovely, the gardens impeccably kept and great housekeeping. Our room was huge, with a great bathroom and large wardrobe. We got a sea view room with a balcony and it was SO worth it! The view is stunning and we were covered when the pools were full or we wanted privacy. The restaurant environment and terrace are really pleasant. They served an impressive variety of food every day, with good quality ingredients (don’t expect king prawns in the paella or freshly squeezed juice though, you get what you pay for). Same goes for the drinks at the bars: wine, sangria and beer were fine, but if you’re a cocktail person be prepared for slushies and ready mixed drinks. The quality of the included alcohol isn’t great but you can pay extra for better drinks. Having two pools and one of them being heated was a definite bonus. Also loved their shop with really tasteful and reasonably priced clothing, souvenirs, beach bags, jewellery etc as well as drinks, snacks, sun cream and other basic necessities. A high point for us: the friendly cats around the hotel! The restaurant and reception staff were also lovely and so polite and spoke many languages. The younger girls at the pool bar could do with basic customer service training though, a lot of the times they were chatting or on their phones and took a while to even acknowledge the guests, unfortunately. About the beach itself, it is black sand with some pebbles and sections of rock bed. There are no loungers or any bars or restaurants on the main stretch. We found it nice for walks later in the day, taking a dip in the crystal clear ocean and exploring the rock pools filled with fish and crabs though. The seafront boardwalk is new and well maintained, with irrigated palm trees and nice sculptures along the way. Besides that, there’s only a tiny fishing village with a couple restaurants and a supermarket, so bear that in mind if you’re looking for tourism or other activities. If I could point out points of improvement it would be the following: 1) have separate staff for clearing tables and for serving drinks at meal times. The staff were working really hard but you’d still have to wait quite a bit for your drinks. 2) Put the foosball table inside the games room or restrict playing times please!!! People would literally start playing at 7:30 in the morning. The noise echoes through the lobby and can be heard across all the sea facing rooms which was really annoying. 3) discourage people from hoarding the pool loungers. If you were up after 8:30 most of the chairs would be taken. A lot of people would throw their towels down then disappear for hours, which I found quite rude and selfish. 4) improve the wi-fi, super inconsistent signal and you have to constantly sign back in. 5) add loungers and bar service so you can enjoy the beach too! All in all we had a great time though, it’s a great place to just relax, get tanned, catch up on your
