Chris and Scott have created a very welcoming environment for a fellow traveling on his own. Their hospitality is engaging and effortless. The rooms are designed with a keen eye for color and texture and, importantly, views. The view from my secluded terrace looked across manicured hedges and down a long water feature and across the valley to the dormant volcano in the distance. As if I was transported to the time of a Merchant-Ivory film, A Room With A View. The three-course dinner was as elegant and it was delicious. The roasted half chicken on a bed of turmeric with freshly picked vegetables from the garden was savory and satisfying. Then, the exquisite Pavlova was presented for dessert. The level of service and hospitality is top tier so much so I cancelled my stay at another establishment and spent another two nights at Omaka Lodge. Chris and Scott made my stay wholly enjoyable. I had their joyous company when I wanted as well as space for quiet contemplation when I wanted. I highly recommend all who seek an extraordinary stay in the country to go and be pampered in the best way.

An exceptional stay. The hosts Scott and Chris weee so friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable about the area and avid gardeners. Their gardens are sublime and the food they cooked was exquisite. We had the best stay and would highly recommend. Our suite was beautifully positioned with great views from every room, a super comfy bed and treats upon arrival - the best lemon coke ever. We joined the Forgotten World Adventures and added a little bit of adventure to our stay as well as walking around the gardens and relaxing before the sumptuous dinner. Scott picked us up for the train and deluveeed is back there at the end of our stay. So easy! Would highly recommend. Thank you 🙏

We relaxed and revived in this lovely location after our wonderful rail cart trip on the forgotten highway. Our hosts were warm and informative, rooms lovely and the garden a joy. Dinner and breakfasts were largely seasonal and locally grown fare, beautifully served and delicious

Scott and Chris are just the most lovely hosts! my husband and i stayed here for 3 nights and were warmly greeted with over the top hospitality that made us feel right at home and comfortable! The grounds are stunning, the gardens and beautiful and the food was so tasty! The breakfast is the included meal but I would highly recommend opting in for the dinner as well! We had many great conversations with other guests over delicious food and local wine. When we return to the North Island of NZ, we will be coming back here!

What can you say about this place! Simply stunning! The location, grounds and views are just incredible, The house and rooms, so very beautiful, comfortable and inviting. We had two nights on a B & B basis, although we did opt for an evening meal on the first night after a long travel. Food was 1st class, beautifully presented. Then there are the hosts Scott and Chris. Great hosts, absolutely obvious that they love what they are doing and genuinely enjoy having guests stay at their stunning home. Would I recommend staying here? Overwhelmingly yes, this is not your average B & B, it is on a whole different level and is an experience I would advise anyone to try if you are planning on staying in the area. One day I hope we get the chance to return. It’s just a bit of a trek from Yorkshire????

We really loved our stay at Omaka Lodge. From our arrival when we were welcomed at the front door so warmly by both Scott and Chris, to the delicious afternoon tea out on our private terrace, the wonderful dinner and breakfast, the super comfortable bed and lovely bathroom - it was a brilliant way to end our ten day roadie. Thanks for letting us charge our ev. The house and grounds are really lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for you and your warm hospitality made our overnight stay special.

I’m sure there is a better B&B than Omaka Lodge, but I certainly haven’t found it. From the minute, Scott and Chris picked us up from the railway station, it was sheer joy as the guys make sure we loved every minute of our stay. All the rooms are lovely, and the garden is Sublime. It’s an outing in itself, just walking the garden. The views from the garden are stunning. Our advice would be to book dinner there as the Experience is wonderful. Every other review describes the full experience, so there’s Little more to add to what has already been said. It’s just the complete experience And for this, Scott and Chris ,we are so grateful.

Absolutely amazing place to stay, fantastic hospitality, very comfortable accommodation and beautiful gardens. A little gem well worth visiting, we always enjoy our stays. And if you're a golfer, Taumaranui has a very pretty golf course.

We stayed at Omaka Lodge for 2 nights earlier this month with 2 additional guests, in the Hikurangi Room and the Garden Room. Both rooms were fabulous, as was the whole property and spectacular gardens. Scott and Chris welcomed us with a beautiful afternoon tea in the garden, made us feel completely at home straightaway, and did everything they could to ensure our stay was perfect. TOP TIP - take them up on the dinner option, which we did both nights - the food and service were both great. I whole heartedly recommend Omaka Lodge to anyone wanting a bit of a treat. The only downside was that the home baking and desserts + home made bread and jams were just too tempting! We're already looking forward to our next stay!
