We stayed in a family club room with our 3 year old grandson. The room was huge with 3 French doors leading to large balcony & magnificent garden & sea views. The heated pool was superb. Our only niggle would be that because of the dog friendly nature of the hotel there were perhaps naturally dog hairs on the bar/dining room & the shower could have benefitted from a deep clean. Due to the age of the hotel we accept that upgrades occur as necessary on an ongoing basis. Parking was great & all the staff were helpful & friendly. We would definitely return again.

Easy to leave you luggage at reception  Bev was heat at explaining the hotel amenities  Room was fine  Bathroom a little tired and hard towels  Bed was comfy  Breakfast was ok  Not the best hot food selection and the chef could see me waiting but too away the baskets to fill up making me wait longer when there wasn’t a queue  Swimming pool was great and the best part of the hotel

Our stay 11th and 12th July. Great location pleasant stroll through gardens to gate for nearby beach Lovely pool We were hoping to make this hotel our regular  getaway but the only negative was the unbearably hot room. It was so hot we checked out and went home Sunday night as we could not face another night it was not healthy or comfortable, ( or legal ? )the 2 fans did nothing. We asked for another room but were told they had the same problem  Get some aircon or coolers and we will be back

A 3 day get together with friends. Lovely lovely pool - and changing rooms, and no deep end. The hotel was comfortable. No airs and graces, just relaxed. Plenty of tables and chairs out in the garden, with some flowers around. 6 acres of gardens, stretching down to the beach - idyllic. Room was a single. Good bed, very good linen. My room was on top floor overlooking road which was noisy until around 11.30p.m. The lights stay on in the central staircase and this shines into windows - health and safety I guess... But everything was clean. I didn't spend much time in the room, so OK. The really big down side of the stay was the shortage of staff. This meant all existing staff were overloaded with serving drinks, breakfast, etc.. They didn't moan about it, but it meant tables not cleared, waiting at bar too long for service, and generally lack of personnel around the hotel. There was a lack of lighting in the garden at night - or the staff didn't know how to turn them on. Car parking was great - with under-roof to keep cars cool. I would definitely consider a return trip as this was a relaxed homely type of hotel even with its grandeur Edwardian style. Just need to see some management around the place, and more staffing for better faster service, and tidying up of daily activities. Next time I'll book a double on the first or ground floor facing the garden and sea.

The hotel was wonderful and the staff were friendly and fantastic. The grounds were incredible and the fact that you had a gated entrance from the garden which gamlve you access to the beach and town in a matter of minutes was absolutely brilliant. The room could of been a little cleaner but other than that Very happy and will be staying again

The hotel was ideal for our visit, which was sadly for a family funeral. The location is excellent, a walk through the gardens to a secure gate gives access to the seafront and town. The Staff were very good. It’s a bit Old Fashioned and maybe not to everyone’s taste. The gardens are lovely and worth a walk around. The bar area is a bit small if the hotel was really busy. But all in all a good stay and reasonably priced.

The room wasn't clean and sheets was dirty. The hotel wasn't that good either. The grounds looked lovely. The room we were in was close to the road and couldn't sleep with the noise of the traffic

Absolutely lovely as usual. Please tell trip.com that check in at the Cliffden hotel is not 11am to 06am Check in is 4pm and your website is misleading people. This is very naughty from Trip

The hotel is dated. The service is terrible our room.has not been cleaned for 2 days even after complaining. We eat once in the evening, the steak was so tough we couldn't eat it, came with tinned button mushrooms, spoon of mixed green veg which must have been frozen. At breakfast we waited 20 minutes for 2 poaches eggs the rest of the breakfast was cold before they came. Some dates they ran out of fresh fruit. Coffee machine one morning was broken. There was a lack of experienced staff to help with issues, didn't seem interested.

The bathroom and pool area were way too warm.

Third time we have stayed here in the last month. Great staff, very helpful. Super location and gardens. Unfortunately ourselves and some others had to wait until after 4pm for our rooms to be ready. When you are there for just one night it's a bit deflating to be told they are very busy. Management know how many rooms they have and should have resources to fulfill housekeeping in more than good time. However we loved our stay as ever.

29/04/2025. We have been to the cliffden hotel three times and had a club room on the first floor they were nice large rooms but this time we were on the second floor our room was very small and claustrophobic nothing like the photos in the booking . We asked for a different room and the man at reception said see me tomorrow morning and if there's a larger room you can have it. Later on in the day my partner went to reception to book a table for an evening meal for us. While she was booking the table the lady at the reception said there were no other rooms you can have. The barman was very polite nice to chat to. We only had one meal in the evening cod and chips could not find much cod it was all batter. Other meal gammon and chips gammon would be good to repair your soles on your shoes. Go to the local chip shop absolutely beautiful. We used the indoor swimming pool which was nice and clean. The gardens are lovely, and the beer is very expensive. Go to the jolly sailor pub with drinks at good prices. Reception is not very helpful. I can't understand why the hotel puts people with dogs on the second floor because when the dog wants to go to the toilet by the time you get down to the entrance the dog has already peed on the carpets. Luckily our dog can hold her pee and she is small enough to carry.I have followed other people with their dogs and seen it. Overall we were very disappointed with our stay this time.

Traditional hotel. Nice entrance to road next to sea via private gardens and gate. Good swimming pool. Breakfast was fairly basic but adequate . Nice views

This hotel is great, I do stay regularly due to the location, gardens and parking. Also had 3 course dinner this time rather than just breakfast and it was delicious.
