Eythrope Boutique Villa

Great experience overall. Service staff were friendly, helpful and nice. Room is mostly clean but dead bug saw under the bathroom sink in one of the rooms. Hot water may come later in the morning - not sure but 3 of the 4 of us bathed in cold water except me who woke up later and showered gloriously with warm water. Oh no toothbrush and toothpaste provided so pls bring your own. Love the view and ambience. Bought dinner at 180RM per pax with the given menu of "Mum's Kitchen" but the roasted duck is missing. Not aware until alerted (I felt bad because it feels like I am petty) - I was told nobody said anything about the missing dish for one year until me... ya LOL.. Apparently not supposed to have roasted duck in the menu all this time but menu not changed .. but it was actually one key reason I chose that menu over others. I would have taken the steamboat menu instead because not worth the money. No refund - just a "beautiful" misunderstanding and thank you for alerting. Location is very near habitat penang. Guests of this hotel can have 20% discount for this attraction. But if you travelling as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children/seniors), you get the 20% discount (RM160) even if you don't stay at hotel. Overall, thanks Eythrope - good experience but not top class. Just for reference - the rooms I stayed in are on the smaller side for adults esp. Tiger room. Interested guests should just pay more and stay in the 2nd floor suites to get better experience.

Staying at Eythrope Boutique hotel has been a wonderful experience. The hotel and the surrounding is classically unique, a reflection of the colonial days. The cool weather is especially revitalising and the scene of George Town lit up at night is a priceless view. Morning trek around the Habitat is inspiring. Definitely will go back again one day.

We stayed for 4 days enjoying the kind and thoughtful hospitality provided by Brendan Hamid and Hamada. The recently restored bungalow was fully equipped, very comfortable and had lovely touches like a library of recent books on Penang history its buildings and gardens, flora and fauna. We stayed in a large room on the ground floor which was spotless. The views from the balcony of Georgetown and Butterworth were wonderful. The hotel is very conveniently located close to the Penang Hill funicular station, restaurants and cafes. The Eythrope was an excellent base for an extremely enjoyable relaxed stay on Penang Hill.

Brendan and the Eythrope staff exemplify Malay hospitality- we enjoyed our stay immensely and were quite sad to leave. The hotel feels like a home away from home, and the views are amazing. There’s restaurants a few mins away and lots to see and do on the Hill. Would love to return soon
