Our last hotel in Penang was in Batu Ferringhi. The hotel isn't very large, and the room facilities are a bit dated, but the experience was excellent! First, the resort layout is well-designed; despite its size, the areas are cleverly arranged, creating beautiful views at every turn. There are several swimming pools, including two for children with slides and more. Most importantly, there are staff members consistently present at the slides and by the pools to supervise and maintain order, ensuring children can play safely and securely! Breakfast was also great; although there was a queue during peak hours, the food was delicious and offered a wide variety. The beach bar also had good food, and it was lovely to relax there with the lights on at night. The best part is that the hotel has direct access to the beach and the sea! And the path from the hotel to the sea looks absolutely beautiful when lit up at night. We booked a two-story family room with a lovely balcony. The staff service was also excellent. I'm giving it five stars.

The entire guesthouse was spotlessly clean, and the decor was warm and stylish. The host was very friendly and patiently answered all our questions about local attractions and how to get around. The location is excellent, with food, drinks, and entertainment all within easy reach.

We were able to check in as soon as we arrived at 12 PM. The location is excellent, with great shopping malls nearby, and it's not far from Shantou Street. The room facilities aren't brand new, but they were clean and tidy. The overall room service was quite good. We stayed for four nights and it seems we even got upgraded to a sea view room, which offered beautiful sunrise and sunset views. Recommended.

Sunway Hotel, recommended by Doubao, truly exceeded my expectations. First and foremost, the service was outstanding. Upon check-in, we were given warm cookies, which immediately won over our travel-weary and hungry hearts. Our luggage was not only brought to our room but also placed exactly where we wanted it, which was incredibly thoughtful. The bottled water provided was in beautiful glass bottles, making the water taste even better. The mini-fridge was stocked with complimentary drinks, replenished daily. The hotel has been renovated; while the bath towels were a bit old, they were very well-maintained. The bed and bedding were incredibly comfortable, and the room was quiet, ensuring we had two very restful nights. Although the pool was small, it was clean. For this price, with such service and a pool, it truly offers excellent value for money. Plus, right downstairs is a local night market – not a touristy one – where you can find authentic char kway teow, longan ice, and fried vermicelli from Wu Zhou Tea Room, all highly recommended!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really enjoyed my stay at SHO Hotel Penang. The hotel is clean, modern and well-maintained, with spacious rooms that are comfortable for both short and longer stays. Being a newly opened hotel, the facilities are still fresh and in great condition, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The only downside is the location, which is quite far from Georgetown, so getting to the main attractions and city centre can take some time. Other than that, a very pleasant stay and definitely a hotel worth considering if you prioritise cleanliness, space and modern facilities.

Lovely clean room with air conditioning and proper shower. They also provide you with some bottled water and there was a fridge which is very handy for keeping your drinks cold. In the bathroom, Hand gel, shower gel and shampoo all provided as well. The hotel is very well situated in Georgetown and you can easily walk to all of the key attractions - such as the Clan Jetties and some of the famous mansions here, as well as going around and seeing the street art. There’s also a lot of cafes and restaurants nearby which are nice - and the art shop and cafe Journal is just down the street, which is a great place to pop into while exploring the town. I had the breakfast while staying here and it was very nice - each day they have a rice and noodle dish and you can ask for eggs or an omelette. There was also salad and fruit plus steamed buns and corn pudding - so lots of variety. One issue to note was noise - the rooms are not the most sound proof, so I could occasionally hear people in the corridor or even one person snoring during the nighttime, which did make sleeping a bit harder.

Given its location in the bustling old town, street-facing rooms may experience early-morning traffic noise or nearby commercial activity. Light sleepers are advised to book a windowless room (often quieter) or request a higher-floor, inward-facing unit. At a price range of MYR 100–150 per night in the very heart of George Town, offering an elevator, private bathroom, and air conditioning, Bishop Hotel delivers outstanding value for money. 🪴Points to Consider🪴 Parking Challenges: George Town’s old streets are narrow, and the hotel does not provide private parking. Guests arriving by car will need to rely on municipal street parking or nearby paid parking lots, which can be inconvenient. Limited Natural Light: Some budget room categories do not have exterior windows. In Southeast Asia’s humid climate, this may feel slightly confined to some guests. Limited Facilities: This is a hotel focused purely on accommodation. There is no swimming pool or large fitness center. This hotel is an excellent introduction to Penang as it was for me on my first day in town exploring and getting to know the main city area. Close to downtown center the hotel provides an ideal location for explorers who want to be close to all the major sites Penang has to offer. In the immediate area is George Town with venues including the Clan Jetties, UNESCO heritage sites, Armenian Street and a vast array of street art all worth stopping to visit. The hotel itself is clean and tidy with helpful and friendly staff who went out of their way to help accommodate me upon my early arrival (holding my luggage until check in time). The room was comfortable and for amenities there was an onsite laundry room that helped ensured traveler like me had the opportunity to refresh their baggage for the next adventures ahead. As a heads up to future travelers: the hotel is located near some stunning mosques that although were great to visit, do have prayer sessions throughout the day and night which all hotel travelers can clearly hear in their rooms. Not recommended for light sleepers or anyone who minds the sound. Overall the hotel was a great place to start my Penang stay and exploration.

Regarding the facilities, I need to pay by my own self for the car parking service. They are charging RM 24 per day and I am staying for 4 days 3 nights. Do you think how much I need to pay for the car parking which they never stated that visitors or customers need to paying by ourselves. I hope that in the future, please stated very clearly that we need to paying by ourselves without inform us.
