Uga Ulagalla

We recently had our 3rd stay at Uga Ulagalla we were again thoroughly impressed by the exceptional welcoming and friendly service we received from all the hotel staff. From the moment we arrived, We were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Our room (23) was immaculate and luxurious and we really appreciated the regular little touches from the room staff The food was excellent, and plentiful and all the restaurant staff we so attentive, and helpful. We love the fact that you can see so much wildlife, such as monkeys, lizards, and so many types of birds just walking arounds the grounds and surrounding area (we were lucky enough to see owls 3 times). We really enjoyed the village cycle ride and scenic drive with picnic. Also highly recommended is the horse riding with Ramesh, who is so knowledgeable and clearly loves the horses he looks after. All the staff show dedication and excellent service in whatever role they undertake. Thanks to Kusal for driving us back and fore to our room when we decided not to use the bikes, and his assistance when Paul needed help! Others to mention are Dilrushika, Sakila, Demutu and Sakun Throughout our stay, everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcome like returning friends. It was evident that the staff genuinely cared about the comfort and satisfaction of their guests. Eager to help with any queries they may encounter. Overall, our experience at Uga Ugalla was nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of luxurious accommodations, exceptional dining, and unparalleled service made for another truly unforgettable stay. We can't wait to return for a fourth time and create more memories at this wonderful hotel.

Our stay at Uga Ulagalla in Sri Lanka was absolutely fantastic! The staff was incredibly hospitable, the facilities were luxurious, and the natural surroundings were breathtaking. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway.

We stayed 2 nights and left wanting to stay at least 2-3 more as this resort has so much to offer. Amazing atmosphere , villas, staff, pool, restaurant, and activities. We stayed in a pool villa, it’s as big as a house but feels homely & you don’t know anyone else is around. Bikes to ride around the estate or ask for a buggy and it’s there in no time. Imagine our surprise when we went for a Balinese massage and the masseuses were both from Ubud the massage capital of Bali and we weren’t disappointed. The team here are all amazing but a special call out to the restaurant manager who remembered the wine we had and had it on ice for us the next nite.

Wonderful hotel situated in an old mansion in the middle of the nature between forest, animals and lagoon. Personnel and assistance was fantastic starting from the welcome cerimony and the check in when they bring you mocktails and serviette to refresh. We had wonderful bungalow with private pool to be reached by navette, but it is also possible to bike there. Wonderful pool, excellent restaurant you really get 5 star service. Worth to mention the dinner at Kamatha restaurant that was of the best dinner we had in Lanka with traditional food and curries cooked with love by two great cook and sisters. Great experience, only remarks is that activities, yoga and massage are really expensive.

A beautiful hotel in the middle of nature where they take care of even the smallest detail. But without a doubt the best was the horseback ride around the lake. It was qn unforgettable experience. The very nice guy in charge of the horses took fabulous photos of the moment. The food on the restaurant was delicious.

A must stay! The food is delicious, the staff is welcoming (assistant manager Dilrukshi, in particular, was amazing), the accommodations are gorgeous (imagine having your own private pool in the middle of what looks like a jungle oasis), and they offer a range of great activities. Because I visited during new year, they held a nice ceremony, had a number of fun activities for both adults and kids, and offered tasty snacks and drinks. 5 out of 5.

We had a wonderful stay with family & friends at Ulagalla during our Sri Lanka trip in march 2024. Some of the points which impressed us a lot: - Beautiful surroundings with a lot of animals on hotel premises - Incredible Pool - Spacious bungalows - Lovely and attentive Staff - Great Food - Lots of activities: Anuradhapura and Sigiriya
