Vardzia Resort

I stayed at this resort in August 2025. The property itself is beautiful and the reception staff were welcoming. Unfortunately, my restaurant experience was extremely disappointing, and to make matters worse, management’s response to my complaint was equally unsatisfactory. During dinner, I waited far too long for a menu and drinks. When ordering, I clearly explained my allergies (no bell peppers, no eggplants, no meat). Yet my salmon dish came with only bell peppers and eggplants as vegetables. Later, when I ordered spaghetti with only tomato sauce, it arrived with bacon. When I pointed this out, the waiter told me I “should have mentioned that I don’t eat meat” — a dismissive and arrogant answer. My second cocktail took over 30 minutes to arrive, and I saw other guests struggling to get basic items such as napkins. I paid the full bill without making a scene, but I felt completely disregarded as a guest. This experience was not only frustrating but undignified. I then received a reply from management which, instead of taking responsibility, excused the failures by saying they hire “young and inexperienced waiters” and even referred to them as “little cute waiters.” Such a response is frankly unacceptable. It minimizes the seriousness of repeated mistakes (including ignoring allergies) and shows little respect for paying customers. Guests should not have to suffer poor service because of staff inexperience — especially in a resort that positions itself as high standard. A hotel of this beauty deserves a restaurant and management that meet the same standards. Sadly, my experience was ruined by both the restaurant service and the management’s dismissive response.

This hotel was quite a gem! It was very welcoming on arrival, and the staff were all very attentive with nothing being too much trouble. In fact, some of the young waiting staff in the restaurant were exceptional! The hotel is in a stunning location with fabulous views and the gardens are just amazing. The two outdoor pools are surrounded by mountains. There were lots of activities provided to keep both young and old occupied, and there was even a 'cave room' to escape to. I didn't use the spa but it looked inviting. The rooms were clean with a balcony, comfortable and had air conditioning. The breakfast was good, as was the evening meal we had. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. I was our favourite hotel of the whole trip.

Beautiful view. Includes a balcony. Great location to visit the Vardzia monastery caves. Easy parking. Delicious food with great restaurant staff. Lovely peaceful grounds. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We only booked one night here so that we could visit the caves but if we could do it again, we would book a minimum of two nights. Everything about this place from the service, to the food, to the spa-like facility was incredible. It was a very relaxing stay.

wonderful location, good facilities with swimming pools. restaurant provides excellent food. Environment is fantastic, view is spectacular. enjoyable stay indeed.
