The service from the staff and the facilities were outstanding and top notch. It was very evident that they wanted us to have an amazing time. The daily itinerary was very helpful in allowing ourselves to fully relax. The relaxing activities were superb and so was just laying in the hammock behind our bure.

We absolutely loved our recent stay at Toberua. That tiny island is a gem, and the staff/team an absolute treasure. We were swept off our feet in the best possible way by our spacious bure (Premium Oceanfront #3) with its huge sliding doors, sun lounges and steps directly into the sea. Food was lovely, and the common dining areas and bar as utterly charming as the last time I was there in 1985 celebrating my 14th birthday. By a stroke of luck, we stayed over the Fiji Day long weekend, and were delighted to join the activities devised by the staff to celebrate. Clearly, this is a special day for them. The island is an absolute showstopper at high tide. A little drab when the water recedes (it goes a long way out due to being shallow), but mesmerising when the sea returns. We loved the Picnic island day trip, and the snorkelling excursions to nearby reefs were fabulous. As good snorkelling as I've done just about anywhere. For anyone looking for an easy island experience beyond the familiar (but gorgeous) environs of the Mamanucas and Yasawas, this is the place. We will be back, and I will not be waiting another 40 years this time around.

Bula, My wife and I spent our 30th anniversary on Toberua Island and couldn't have asked for anything more. What a wonderful and Beautiful place. The staff is wonderful, friendly, and treats you like you're part of their family. I would like to give a shout out to my man Zac, for his knowledge, wisdom, and just plain friendship. The Bure was wonderful and Bed was very comfortable. Always clean and fresh towels. Food was outstanding, we enjoyed every meal. One thing to know is that, this is a one parrot Island and "Bula Jack" was great. I had coffee with him every morning. Vinaka

Toberua is a hidden gem. We just returned from spending 8 days on this island paradise in the low season (February/March) when it is a bit warmer and wetter. We were consistently blown away by the exceptional standards and hospitality of the entire staff, and would highly recommend this to travellers interested in a secluded island getaway. The manager was there to greet us on arrival, welcome drinks in hand. By the end of the first day everyone knew and greeted us by name. The premium Bure (No. 2) was positioned perfectly right on the beach, complete with hammock and loungers. We were initially worried about the lack of air conditioning but the nights were breezy and the ceiling fan kept us reasonably cool. Evening temperatures were about 24-25C. Being away from the mainland there are very few bugs and I never needed the bug spray I had packed. The food was excellent and a cut above most of my previous resort experiences in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Hawaii. The current chef, who I believe is new to the role at Toberua in the last few months, is a definite keeper. The menu changed every day with a good variety of meat, fish, and vegetarian options. The tuna poke and bacon wrapped fern dishes were standouts. Zac, the bartender was great. The main purpose of the trip was for scuba diving and we chose Toberua in part because of the convenience of having its own dive outfit on site. We did 8 dives over 4 days and though this is not the best time of year to dive in Fiji from a visibility perspective, our dive master made a concerted effort to find the clearest dives for us with good success (see photos). Though Fiji may be better known for the soft coral in the North, I was very impressed by the hard coral formations and the density of fish. We also saw many turtles, white tip reef sharks, and rays. The water was very warm, about 29-30C. We considered some of the other scheduled activities and did make a trip out to Bird Island to see the red footed boobies and the black and white sea snakes. Apparently they are quite venomous but docile and unable to bite humans. We considered chartering the fishing boat, but ended up deciding against it since we got a taste during the surface intervals between scuba dives. Our guide cast out a line and managed to catch both a Spanish Mackerel and a pretty remarkable 73lb Giant Trevally, which was subsequently incorporated into the dinner menu the following day. Other quick notes: The island is fully solar powered. The water is safe to drink, and the internet (if you pay for the 5$ per day premium wifi) was more than fast enough to make WhatsApp calls home. I inquired about tipping and was advised to use the tip box in the main office, which seemed a nice way of doing it so that gratuities are split between all staff. There is a resident Parrot named Jack who had much to say and would occasionally come to the terrace to join us for breakfast. 10/10. Worth a return trip.

Such a wonderful resort to unwind and relax at. Lots of things to keep kids entertained so adults can grab a massage or enjoy a good book in a hammock. Mud golf was a hit with the kids, as was the snorkel safari and the hand-line fishing trip. My 2x kids (7&3) both caught their first fish, on hand lines out on a boat. Their smiles were from ear to ear. Food is fantastic - highly recommend the Sat night BBQ, out of this world. Rooms (Bures) are super comfortable and have all the amenities needed. Hosts Nick & Pip are very accomodating too.

Incredible small resort, with the friendliest staff, amazing food, and beautiful setting. Truly a slice of paradise. We had 3 members of the family who are gluten free, and all had a fantastic experience. The chef worked to make everything gluten free and there was only one brownie dessert which wasn’t, but every other item on the menu they made. We have one child who is especially sensitive and he had zero issues the 6 days we were there.
