The Cellars-Hohenort

From the beginning, the Cellars-Hohenort went above and beyond for us. The staff, management and property are exceptional. Nestled at the base of Table Mountain, this property offered a quite reprieve from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of dishes being offered and a continental spread available for starters. We will definitely come back and stay at this lovely hotel!

This is one of the most memorable hotel experiences during my 5 week around the world trip. Stayed one night during off peak season in early July 2024 with my kid when the hotel was still Hyatt’s partner. This place is a true and true 5 star hotel and the service was impeccable. Upon check in, Waheib (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) from front desk welcomed me and my son and delivered the great news that our room was upgraded with complimentary breakfast. He then proceeded to gave us a thorough tour of the hotel and explained every features of the room so patiently. This was our 6th country during our long trip and his service was the first of a kind. Thank you, Waheib. The beautiful room was enormous for us. There was a welcome note addressed to me and a welcome gift(bottle of wine) in the room. The towel warmer and extra long bath tub was so relaxing after a wet, cold and exhausting day. Ended up ordering room service for my son and the portion was huge that i couldn’t even help him eat them all. Food was fresh and of great quality. The breakfast in The Conservatory was just amazing. The ambiance just transported me to a different world with floor to ceiling window to enjoy the greenery outside from the comfort of magnificent indoor dining. Food was plenty and staff treated us with warmth, compassion and detail to attention. The fresh press juice was so refreshing and delicious. We later took complimentary shuttle to the botanical garden nearby. Our flight was not until late at night so we ended up eating early dinner there before checkout. The dining manager got me the fresh ginger juice available during breakfast when requested. The dining staff dropped what he was doing and took us around the property when asked for direction. Waheib then checked us out and came out to send us off on our uber. It felt like every staff member was genuinely happy to help hotel guests at any given moment. This service, in addition to the beautiful hotel built in 1700s, was what made this place so memorable even for a one night stay.

I had Birthday Morning Tea at Cellars on a Sunday morning, as they only do Afternoon / High tea at the weekends and it was Divine. Beautiful setting, great vegetarian food choices, wine on arrival, tea with every course or coffee and really helpful and friendly staff. The food was delicious and it was a perfect Birthday outing.

I spent 3 nights at Cellars Hohenort in March, using the hotel as a base for a period of personal reflection over my 50th Birthday. I work in travel and I had just hosted a group of 11 clients who were celebrating a milestone birthday so having a few days to reconnect with myself and check in on how I was processing my own milestone was both deeply healing and personally necessary over this important time in my life. Cellars Hohenort was the perfect place for this personal retreat. Tucked away in the lush surroundings of Constantia Winelands and huge ancient oak trees, it provided a haven in nature and a luxurious retreat. I hosted several lunches and dinners in the restaurant which were supported by the catering team and delivered seemlessly. I spent time in the spa experiencing luxurious treatments and took time to reflect in the sun at the pool. I came away calm, refreshed and ready to take on the second chapter of my life. I could not have picked a better location for this short personal retreat. Thank you to the entire team for taking such good care of me.

This is a beautiful tucked away gem of a hotel and the rooms are charming. The staff was warm and friendly.

The Cellars provides a wonderful mix of comfortable accommodation, quality food and a fabulous sense of place. The gardens are super relaxing!
