Super Hotel Ikebukuro-Eki Kitaguchi

First, the positives: The staff are incredibly friendly, and the hotel's commitment to sustainability is truly commendable. You can genuinely feel their care for both guests and employees, with thoughtful touches everywhere. They offer a choice of pillows (soft or firm), yukatas, and self-service toiletries. The breakfast spread is fantastic, with delicious salads and bread, plus a toaster oven. The evening public bath is a carbonated hot spring, and while it's not huge, it's open all night! After a day of shopping, soaking in the hot spring is incredibly relaxing. The only minor drawbacks are that the room is quite small, and the narrow hallway makes it difficult to open luggage. However, given the location and price, there's really nothing to complain about. It's highly recommended for tourists staying 1-2 days or solo travelers!

The location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from Ikebukuro subway station. There are also plenty of restaurant options nearby, especially many Chinese restaurants, which is perfect for anyone craving Chinese food.

## Amenities The onsen (hot spring bath) was excellent, and it's complimentary! I stayed for two nights and made sure to enjoy the hot spring every day. While the hotel lobby isn't large, there's a cozy lounge area on the second floor that offers free drinks. The absolute highlight for me was the luggage scale they provided – what an incredibly thoughtful touch! Since Ikebukuro East was our last destination, we could weigh all our purchases right then and there, which was super convenient. Haha! ## Cleanliness Excellent cleanliness. Both the room and the onsen facilities were spotless. ## Location It's a bit of a walk from the subway station, but incredibly convenient for both shopping and dining. Within a few kilometers, you'll find countless malls, drugstores, and restaurants, making it perfect for daily exploration and indulging in local cuisine. ## Service Service was good. They even provide special attire for the onsen. The pillows were quite unique – filled with what seemed like herbal pellets – and they also offered a separate neck support pillow. The room itself was small, but the design was genuinely clever, maximizing every inch of space. I found their innovative use of space quite refreshing.
