Keio Presso Inn Ikebukuro

I really liked this hotel. In all honesty, it’s a great area, very close to the station and overall the staff and the amenities are all I could ever need. The room was very small, I could manage because I was out a lot, but there was barely space to open my luggage so that I could organise my stuff. Think about this before choosing your room type. The window didn’t fully open (for security, I suppose) and there is no wardrobe, just a small opening in the wall at the very entrance to hang, max., 1 coat and two shirts perhaps. The worst thing about the room and the hotel might have been the breakfast, which is very, very simple, with surprisingly few continental options. Also it seems the moment the juice runs out the don’t refill it or it takes them a long time to fill it again. I didn’t see a toaster and the bread size is tiny. But, there are other more Japanese options you can have as well as basics that still work for western palates. Washing machine price (depends on the weight): from 300¥ to 600¥.

Short 5-10min walk from Exit 35 of Ikebukuro station. There are many shops where you can buy necessities along the way (pharmacy, family mart, GU, hama-sushi). Extremely convenient location. The hotel is in the 3rd floor, lift is available. There are seats at the reception, and space to store your luggages. Amenities like toiletries and soaps are all provided. The room is compact but had everything you may need for a short stay. Linen was clean and tidy. Small bar fridge, potable tap water, tv with access to netflix, etc.. My room had windows that can be opened and it overlooks a beautiful lawn and a peaceful cemetery. Overall i had a really pleasant stay and would choose to stay here again!

The hotel was beyond expectations. The room, although small, was well equipped, even had a table and two soft mini-sofas. The amenities are quite new, without signs of wear and tear. The receptionists were very welcoming and polite. The breakfast was excellent, with good variety and quality of dishes (especially, the chicken and meat). The location deserves a special mention: a nice neighborhood close to the station with all the shops one might want to visit on a trip to Japan, a conbini is just next door. A lot of greenery in the area, too. The hotel is highly recommended.

The service is really nice we got corner room which have more space for luggage as we stay for 7 nights. Mate don't clean up the room everyday, they just come in to change the towel and clear the trash, location is super close to ikebukuro shopping district
