Finding it was a little troublesome but when we did we were so glad we chose this wonderful establishment It is situated within a short 10 minute walk to the charming town Center. The breakfast staff were, like the breakfast, exceptional. The bedroom was wonderfully interesting appointed with bits and pieces of the cobblers trade as the house was once the house of a shoe manufacturer in Tongeren. I can’t recommend this hotel more highly.

Historic building sympathetically restored and only a short walk from the centre of Tongeren. Spacious comfortable room, excellent breakfast and lots of info on where to go, what to see and where to eat from our friendly host. Highlights were the Gallo-Roman Museum, archaeological site underneath the cathedral, Sunday antiques market and great food at the ‘Infirmary’ in the old ‘Beguinage’ quarter by the river… Who knew that Tongeren was once the most significant Roman town in Belgium- and had such a fascinating history? Great place for a long weekend break - and we will definitely stay at the Hotel van Steyns again if we come back for more antiques hunting!

Corné en Laurent hebben van dit huis met geschiedenis een prachtig boutiquehotel gemaakt met een onberispelijke en hartelijke service. Corné is een zeer vriendelijke informatieve gastheer waarvoor niets teveel gevraagd was. Dit hotel was voor mijn vrouw en mij een ideale uitrustplaats na een jaar van Covid-19 perikelen. Bijkomend pluspunt: ruime privéparking aan het hotel.

Fantastisch prachtig hotel, de eigenaars zijn zoooooo vriendelijk, echt, zelden meegemaakt, hulp bij alles, op voorhand een berichtje, enorm klantvriendelijk. Zeer mooie en heel ruime kamers, netheid is tiptop! Ontbijt ook echt zeer lekker en gul, in 1 woord, een zeer grote aanrader! Groetjes uit het verre West Vlaanderen

Super fijn personeel. Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst met een goede uitleg over Tongeren. De kamer was zeer chique, maar daarnaast ook erg schoon en hygiënisch. Tot in de ountjes verzorgd. Fijn bed dat erg lekker lag! Het ontbijt was uitgebreid en lekker, waarnaar er een gezellig praatje ontstond met (volgens mij) een van de eigenaren. Super fijn hotel. Wij komen hier zeker terug!

Heel charmant hotel, heel vriendelijk ontvangen, we voelden ons heel welkom. Het gebouw is heel mooi, authentiek met alle comfort. Heel proper, alles zeer verzorgd. Het ontbijt is heerlijk, lekker verse producten en ruime keuze. Niets is hier teveel, aan alles wordt gedacht. Wij hebben enorm genoten, waarvoor dank. Wij komen zeker terug.

In het Huys van Steyns ben je echt welkom. De vroegere woning van schoenenfabrikant Steyns herbergt 9 kamers. Heel wat voorwerpen refereerden naar het Belgische schoenenmerk Ambiorix van de familie Steyns. Leuke details zoals schoenzolen die gebruikt worden als glasonderleggers. De uitbater neemt tijd voor zijn logees en zorgt voor een heerlijk ontbijt. Dit hotel is een aanrader.
