Route 2 Apartments

We had a family breakfast party for nine people, including four teenagers. We were asked to order in advance, which we did the previous day. That worked very well as all the food arrived promptly and freshly cooked, without us having to spend time choosing and ordering, and it was all very good and at a fair price. A lovely experience - we'll certainly do it again!

Lovely location, TLC needed Ive stopped here many times over the years, its quirky and a nice location, but it lets itself down badly . No redecorating has been done since opening. The stair carpet needs binning, dirty and stained , paintwork tired and chipped . Old sofa and TV, smell of fried food from cafe downstairs doesn't help. The top floor room I was in, one of the Velux windows wouldn't close properly. The place is very tired unfortunately

Good place to stay, better communication needed Lovely property. Overall good stay. However few points that could be improved upon, mainly from communication point of view. As we were travelling from the other side of the country we had requested if any non-dairy milk was available for use on the day we arrived and although the host said that would be fine, no milk available on arrival. Also the cutlery and plates etc were overtly greasy with some bits of old food on them which mean we re-washed them all. On first morning of our stay we went down for breakfast in the cafe underneath the property. Busy morning and staff did tell us there would be a wait which was fine for us. But after 45 minute wait, with 2 other tables being served before us (despite arriving after us) no food. When it did arrive, lukewarm at best and we did not then have time to wait another 45 minutes. So breakfast was a disappointment unfortunately. The staff definitely needed some better communication between them all. And finally, we appreciated it is an old building and the cafe opens at 8 am but perhaps a little more respect for guests in the morning with regards to noise and full blast music coming on at 8am (ironic statement for me bearing in mind I am deaf but gives an idea of how loud it was)

We had a fabulous stay in the Monmouth apartment. Beautiful, light and airy in the heart of Topsham near the Quay perfect for a quick pint at the LighterInn. Highly recommend this as an escape from the city. I wish I could stay for longer. Well equipped, clean apartment with a nautical theme and the breakfast in the cafe was wonderful. The staff were very kind and welcoming, already planning my next trip here!
