I have stayed here before, and I will again. The rooms are clean and well appointed. Comfortable bed, split system AC. It is walking distance to a number of eateries, and The Sun Hotel. They will offer room service most days. The staff are friendly and professional. It is popular with seasoned visitors to Townsville. I book as soon as I plan on going, because I have been disappointed by no vacancy in the past.

I stayed for a week & did not get any housekeeping. Only turned off everything that had power & replaced soap. Done nothing else.

Worst place in town. We have traveled to Townsville for work many times but never encountered such filthy hotel and rude customer service. The front desk staff is very rude and canceled our second reservation without a valid reason. Totally unacceptable

I had tp go to Townsville for see a Doctor and had made that appointment couple of months ago, just picked a date. Weeks later I booked flights and hotel room only to discover that the Cowboys, the local footy team, was having a home game. There was no vacancy anywhere. Fortunately the good staff at the Colonial Rose arranged a room, that had been prepared before my arrival, on the ground floor as requested. I had never stayed there before but was treated as a loyal long term customer.

Ideal for an overnight stop room was clean but the bathroom had a few hairs from previous guests which was not good. Comfy bed and pillow. Car parking near room. Location on main road however I didn't notice any traffic noise. Overall good value

Stayed here for one night while travelling up north for Christmas. Room was clean, beds were comfy, WiFi was good and reception upon arrival was great. There are tables & chairs located outside of each room (with ashtrays) and this brings me to my only negative about the place. We had a family staying next door to us who thought it was okay to sit there and talk & smoke late into the night (last time I checked the time it was 11pm). Not happy when we'd been up since 5am & had been travelling in the car for 8 and a half hours, and had planned for an early start the next day. Maybe there could be a designated smoking area away from the rooms.
