"I always wanted to stay at Holiday Park, and I finally stayed there on the way from Brisbane to Cairns. This BIG4 is right by the beach, close to the city, and convenient for shopping nearby. When I checked in, I didn't know the rules of the stay, but it was actually very convenient. I just needed to get the key from the designated box, find my cabin and open the door. The room facilities were very complete, the bed was very clean, and when I left, I just had to return the key to the designated box and I could leave. It was also a very interesting way to check in."

"Staff were amazing - exceptionally accommodating. Room was very comfortable, and the secure undercover/off street parking at no extra charge was very appreciated. Location = great - the Strand/esplanade is right across the road, beautiful views of Magnetic Island. Central for everything - walking distance to Coles, cafes, restaurants, pubs and ice creamery/gelato stores. "

"The man at the front desk was very rude, making it hard to imagine he worked in the hospitality industry. Even worse, there were cockroaches in the room - shocking! The soundproofing was also poor, with people outside the room making loud noises and smoking in the courtyard late at night. Overall, it was a truly terrible stay. I generally don't give negative reviews, but this experience was unbearable. I'm sharing this review in the hope that others will avoid this pitfall."
