The Nonokaze Resort is highly recommended. It's a large hotel, but thankfully not overrun with tour groups. The rooms are incredibly spacious, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning lake views – perfect for watching the fireworks display at night. Its location is truly central, right on the shore of Lake Toya. The rooftop onsen is also very spacious, complete with outdoor baths, and is open throughout the night. Overall, the hygiene is excellent. Both breakfast and dinner are served buffet-style and are incredibly lavish, with the sashimi being exceptionally fresh. The hotel offers mountain bike rentals, allowing guests to cycle along the lake. The full loop around the lake is over 50 km; I cycled 5-8 km on both sides of the hotel along dedicated cycling paths. It was a safe ride with beautiful scenery. A taxi ride from the hotel to the JR station costs approximately 2000 JPY.

After booking the hotel on Ctrip, I made sure to reserve the shuttle bus from Sapporo Station to the hotel half a month in advance by filling out a form on their official website. The bus departed from the designated parking area outside Sapporo Station North Exit at 1:30 PM, reaching the hotel around 4:00 PM. If you sit on the right side of the bus, you get a close-up view of Mount Yotei midway through the ride.
Upon check-in, I managed to book a private onsen for 6 PM and dinner for after 7 PM on the spot. After dinner, around 8 PM, we took a short walk to the lake to catch the 8:45 PM fireworks show. The whole evening flowed perfectly! The next day, payment for the private onsen and shuttle bus was conveniently handled at a machine during check-out. At 10:15 AM, we took the hotel shuttle to New Chitose Airport, arriving at the domestic terminal around 12:30 PM. Sitting on the left side of the bus offers a close-up view of Lake Shikotsu en route.
Since it wasn't crowded at the end of August, we were able to book the return shuttle and a private onsen on the spot at the front desk. However, it's generally safer to book these in advance. Current prices are: the hotel shuttle from Sapporo Station to No Kaze is 1000 JPY per person, and from No Kaze to New Chitose Airport is 1500 JPY per person. The private onsen costs 4400 JPY for 50 minutes.
Overall, it was a perfect short getaway!

Aircon in the room is weak. Woke up in the midnight due to the room is pretty hot.
Other than that, try to avoid to stay on 3/F as u need to climb up a few stairs to the room during with your luggage but the hotel staffs are willingly to assist. Other that, hotel is good with the very nice lake view and the services are good.

The hotel's environment and facilities were truly satisfying; it felt like one of the newest and best-equipped hotels by Lake Toya. It boasts a prime location, directly facing the mountains, offering excellent views.
Our private onsen room in the Club House was very spacious, and the private bath itself was wonderfully relaxing and offered great privacy. The buffet dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant were surprisingly lavish and certainly exceeded our expectations.
However, there were a couple of minor drawbacks. For a room averaging 5000 per night, it was quite astonishing that only two small bottles of mineral water were provided per person, with no option to request more – something quite unexpected for a hotel in this price range. Secondly, while it is a natural hot spring, the private indoor onsen seemed to lack thorough cleaning, as there was a noticeable thick yellow buildup on the pool walls, which was a bit off-putting when getting in.

We enjoyed the stay, the room with the onsen was good, the food was excellent with many options, the free flow drinks and snacks at the lobby was great, the location infront of the lake was amazingly beautiful but just I would say the public onsen hours were confusing. We didn't understand it so we couldn't use it. What a shame

The lobby is beautiful, and the restaurant views are absolutely stunning. The buffet dining is quite good for what it is, and the rooftop onsen is also superb. Watching fireworks from the rooftop would be an absolutely perfect experience.
However, the rooms are unfortunately quite old and dated, with a noticeable musty smell. They feel rather worn, and the overall value for money is not high, even though I'm accounting for the excellent views and food in my rating.
I didn't sleep well at all, primarily due to the persistent odor in the room. For someone who values cleanliness, it was quite off-putting, and honestly, one night was more than enough. It simply doesn't compare to the Tsuruga at Lake Shikotsu.
