The hotel is located in a century-old castle. Unfortunately, the building is relatively old. There is no air conditioning or screens in the room. The comfort is not good. The location is convenient to the scenic spots, and the breakfast service is good.

This is a nice family-run hotel in a cute little town, with very large (bus) group(s) staying there. For our one-night stay on our cycling trip, we had a room in the annex building 2 blocks away, uphill behind the main hotel. We had a nice, modern (updated) room two floors walking up from the street, which was comfortable, with big windows overlooking the hills. It was unfortunate we couldn't stay near our friends' rooms in the main building. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet. We had an excellent à la carte dinner in the hotel restaurant, despite their being very busy with the bus tour groups on their fixed meal plan. Breakfast was also very good, with a wide assortment of things to choose from.

Nice hotel and we had a pleasant stay. Our doubleroom Kohlbecher was nice with a balcony. The river view was minimal however. Hotel staff were pleasant. We paid for parking in the garage which was very convenient. We had dinner in the hotel's restaurant and the food was delicious and beautifully prepared. We enjoyed walking up the hill behind the hotel to take in the views. Overall a good stay with no complaints.

I have fallen in love with this quaint, family-run hotel. It is like nothing I have ever experienced in corporate chain hotels in the US. The 3rd generation of the Bell Family has maintained a wonderful sense of personal service in the German tradition. First off, the included breakfast is incredible. In the standard German style, this breakfast (Frühstück) offers a wide variety of breads, cold cuts, soft-boiled eggs, muesli, and yoghurt, as well as bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, and fruits. The bread is so good that I tend to overeat and the coffee is strong and high quality. The rooms are very clean and functional with updated and modern bathrooms. I have come to really appreciate the German style of bedding with a top-sheet replaced by a loose comforter. I always sleep well here. In addition, the hotel has a very modern spa on the premises. I went twice for massages during my stay. It was very relaxing and rejuvenating. Finally, there isn't a whole lot of English spoken here, so you may want to have Google translate handy if you aren't able to communicate in German.

Not really a four star ‘Schloss’. More like a large three star ‘Banhoff’ hotel. ‘Schloss’ created lots of unfulfilled expectations. We had a ‘Schloss’ room that was a very ordinary room, small window, no great view, no AC, and unmissable noise of every train passing. We somehow also assumed spa included a pool, sadly not. Restaurant was good though and garden terrace very nice. But overall this was the poorest price/quality ratio of our 4-day trip in the Mosel valley. Perhaps more catered for guests staying longer, not so much for one night bikers. Staff was somewhat receptive and gifted us a bottle of wine on checkout. Nice final gesture but would not return.

As Belgians we are of course spoiled. Belgian cuisine can be called genius compared to German cuisine. We have not been able to discover a classy restaurant in Cochem, but the Schloss Hotel Petry, about 12 km from Cochem, is really a breath of fresh air! Delicious cuisine in combination with fantastic friendly service; all Belgians come here!

Alles richtig so.

Ruim genoeg, kastruimte genoeg, balkon met stoeltjes & tafeltje. Kamer aan de achterzijde van hotel. Niet gehorig. Genoeg spiegels, make-up spiegel, föhn en Japans toilet in de badkamer. Alles goed schoon (dagelijkse schoonmaak).
