We booked Oceanfront Nilaveli, described as a luxury accommodation for a price comparable to a 4-5 star Hotel. We couldn’t be more disappointed as we found it very far from the nice and cozy condo we expected. Starting from the check in, when we were told our apartment would be in a second condo, 100m away from principal one where restaurant and gym are located. We had booked our stay months in advance (March for August), so there was no point they selected us to stay there. Nevertheless, it was never mentioned while booking that there was a second condo away from principal one. Of course we mentioned this to the receptionist, who really couldn’t care less. No one, of course, helped us with our luggage from reception to the apartment. When we got into the apartment, housekeepers were still inside. Still, pillowcases were all stained, same as the walls (ALL OF THEM). We found dark black long hair on the floor and long blonde hair on the couch. Showers were dirty as well, with naftaline inside that would make the whole bathroom smell terribly. Given the treatment received at the reception, we didn’t even bother asking. I give two stars and not only one just because of the position, right in front of the ocean. Luckily there were many bars and restaurants on the beach so we were not forced to spend more money on this awful structure - not that we would have had the possibility, as restaurant closes at 8PM and you have anyway to book your meals in advance. STAY AWAY, for 200€/night you can surely find much better.
