Hotel Adriana

I was shocked to discover upon arrival that the Adriana “Hotel” is actually a few rooms above the Adriana restaurant/bar, and the hotel business is an afterthought. There is no employee designated for hotel guests. I finally found a waiter at the bar who checked me in. The hallway light is on a very short timer and I found myself in pitch-black darkness before I could even locate the room. I learned to have my phone light ready when I entered the hallway. The room was dingy and rundown…totally unlike the rooms shown in the photos. The view from my window (see photo) was a cement stairwell at the back. My reservation confirmation (also posted here) promised a “deluxe room with sea view.” Ordinarily, I would discuss the situation with the hotel manager but there was never anyone at the check in desk. I sent an email and waited two hours in the lobby sipping a drink, but no one never responded to me. The ultimate insult is that this was by far the most expensive hotel during my three-weeks of travel in the Balkans.

The hotel is old and tired, great location, however the staff are seriously lazy and had to be badgered to get served anything, coffee, food, even getting our room keys. I would not recommend , even with its great location, there are other hotels in the front.

My first impression of Miss Adriana was that she inspected the guests before they were allowed to enter the hotel, but later we realised that she was a rather silent bird of prey. But her expression was very harsh. We didn't notice her the first day, so we must have been approved to stay. It wasn’t easy to find the hotel when we walked outside the open-air restaurants. We came from the harbour and we couldn’t see any sign on the building. Google pointed out a place behind the hotel, so we didn’t have any help from Internet. It was pleasant that the breakfast was served at the terrace and that it was possible to have cappuccino instead of ordinary coffee. The service was a little bit slow but it was worth to wait for the omelette. The waiter was a charming man. Adriana should have a point of view about the renovation in the bathroom, because there were many mistakes with the installations. That results in great loss of water and also a very slippery floor. I think that the workers have been very careless. Because these problems existed and probably perhaps sometimes led to a bad smell in the room I can’t give more than 4 points.

Location - couldn’t be better. Receptionist- very nice and helpful Rooms- very dated but fine for just a couple of nights. Some toilet rolls would appear each day but they never cleaned or made up the bed Breakfast- not many options on the menu, but adequate and edible despite long waits. Coffee is out of a machine there’s no barrister. At breakfast, both of the servers we encountered during our stay were miserable and treated us poorly. The old woman with dark short hair was extremely rude to us despite us being friendly and non demanding. The way she spoke to us was genuinely shocking and means I cannot leave a positive review nor would I ever stay here again. In summary, there are far nicer hotels on the Riva for a similar price point and would recommend seeking them out

I had a great stay. The hotel was very convenient to see and connect with tours. Right on the water front. I will stay here again. In the future.

We were desperate for a hotel room last minute and this hotel was the only thing available. The AC didn’t work. They left a fan in our room. Dirty and not updated. It was the most miserable hotel sleep I have ever experienced.

Disgusting, do not stay here. Our room had mold on the walls and the carpet was so stained. We checked out asap. The only convenience was that the front desk lady was willing to help us move rooms for one night and then checkout without an argument. DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. We also saw the bartender grab ice with his non gloves hand… disgusting.

The location is great. However to access the hotel by car is challenging. The rooms need a big reno: the carpet was filfhy, the drain for the shower was clogged, small TV and has to use 2 remote controls for the TV to work. For the price we paid, I would have expected better.

It is a great location. But bedding was not very nice. Room didn’t get made up daily! Couldn’t charge restaurant account to room
