What a charming small hotel right in historic Old Town Truckee. We rode the train from Davis and the hotel is very close to the station and wonderful restaurants and shops. We had adjoining rooms, 8A and B which meant a bed for each adult. The beds were extremely comfortable. The owners are very kind and attentive. They did a marvelous job renovating this historic structure.

Super cute historic hotel!! I believe the owner checked me in, Desiree, and she was very kind and made sure I was comfortable and shown the hotel before showing me my room. Unfortunately they did not have air conditioning, but Desiree made sure I had fans in the room and let me know I could open the windows at night.

We enjoyed our stay at the Tahoe Star for several reasons. Shannon did a great job helping us with our reservations and restaurant suggestions. The hotel is a convenient 2 blocks from the Amtrak station. Also, it is within walking distance of the Main Street restaurants. Perfect! The remodel of the hotel freshened it up but maintained its rustic charm.

We had an amazing stay! Excellent customer service and extremely clean. Shannan, the front desk concierge, was welcoming, friendly and accommodating. She even called the day of to see if wanted a 2nd bed made up for our 5yo. We will absolutely stay here again.

Such a nice hotel in a great location. A historic building being saved and shared. Everything is up to date inside for comfort. While you will hear the trains come through town some, this older building is very solid and our sleep was not bothered by the train sounds. Ear plugs are provided though if you want them. We appreciated the extra efforts toward cleaning. We utilized the water bottle refilling station and coffee/tea bar area daily. Number one was how helpful Shannan and crew were in making our stay great. We arrived via Amtrak and they accommodated our different time table for check in.

Super cute newly renovated building , very inviting front desk staff. Run by a very nice family. The room was very clean and I liked the modern feel of it even though it’s a historical building. Great breakfast right across the street and discounts for staying there. Location is right downtown on Truckee river
