We were staying in the hostel in Tupiza when we found out they offer 4 day Uyuni tours as well. We booked it together with another couple staying in the hostel and were so happy we did. Our guide, Santos, was amazing!! Santos runs the hostel with his wife and is very passionate and knowledgeable about the Tupiza/Uyuni area, the wildlife, Bolivian culture and anything else you want to know. He went above and beyond to give us a great experience. Preparing great local meals while we were still sleeping and best of all making sure we arrived everywhere before the crowds without ever feeling rushed. Note that the whole tour was in Spanish, though he does speak a little English as well. The 'extra' day driving from Tupiza before joining the route of the other tours starting from Uyuni was very beautiful and definitely worth it. All in all we had a great experience and cannot recommend Los Salares and Santos enough.

Absolutely incredible tour from Tupiza to Uyuni with Santos, the owner of Hostel Salares! Santos is an amazing guide (and good driver, we always felt safe), he told us everything about the nature, the culture and the history of the area and Bolivia, provided great food, a good car, he made sure we saw as much as possible, checked in with our personal wishes, and he is such a friendly person. We could not have had a better experience. Coca leaves were included ;). 10/10 recommended!!! The hostel is beautiful and clean with a nice breakfast, a little bit out of the centre of Tupiza but close to the busstation.

Super friendly and helpful personal! Beautiful cozy double room. And the best guide for the tour to Salar de Uyuni! Santos and his wife are running this Hostal close to Tupiza downtown! You wont miss out on anything there and if you have the chace to make the tour with santos you will see more places and have more information about the nature and animals than in any other tour you could book in Tupiza!

Excelente servicio en todo sentido. El hostal está impecable y súper cómodo a buen precio, sus dueños celia y Santos te hacen sentir como en casa. Hicimos el tour de 4 días con Santos, y la verdad diez puntos, camioneta en excelente estado, más de 20 años de experiencia y el nació en uno de los pueblos del recorrido por lo que esta lleno de conocimiento de la zona. La comida es abundante y deliciosa (somos vegetarianos) y unos chicos que viajaban con nosotros cambiaron su dieta a mitad de recorrido y Santos sin problemas pudo resolverlo. Habiendo hecho tour desde uyuni al salar años anteriores, recomiendo hacer su tour desde tupiza. El pueblo tiene mucho más que ofrecer, a mejores precios y limpieza, y este emprendimiento familiar te lo hace saber.

El hostal es sencillo, pero muy digno, limpio, y el trato muy afable. Luego hemos hecho un tour de tres dias por el altiplano y ha sido increible. Santos, el dueño, un gran guia, nos ha hecho un tour de ensueño. Si vuelvo a Bolivia lo hare de su mano.
