We did not have a pleasant stay at all. Breakfast was really bad, our omelet was warmed up in the microwave. We left earlier to go to an other accomodation. The owner was kind but didn’t really help with anything.

On arrival, nobody expected any guests arriving, property was in despicable state, renovations on the way and smell of paint was overwhelming. 6 people of the group found the condition so unbearable that they left and found alternative accommodation elsewhere. This is certainly not what I would expected from the property which is supposed to be rated as 4 star and herewith I was requesting refund for the unused rooms. Owners Ashwin and Rita were first unavailable, then after numerous calls and e-mail promised refund by end of business day but it was never paid. They are since hiding and blocked my number on their cell. These seems to be fairly new owners so previous good reviews might be from previous owners. I would strongly discourage travellers from using Zeranka Lodge and have photos and witnesses to substantiate my complaint.

Friendly staff, miscommunication with the booking. We needed 2 rooms for 4 people but they were not ready. Staff quickly changed the rooms so that was ok. You can not enter the sea from the beach as the sea is to wild over there. We did not know this in advance, so that was a pitty since we really wanted a beachstay. Found dog poo and pee on the floors. Work in progress at the pool, so very noisy breakfast.

Airconditioning making a helluva noise could barely sleep. Toilet keeps on running. Asked for 2 beds got one. Self catering unit had 1 wine glass. Coffee mugs were still dirty. Was not impressed. Would not reccomend

A lovely place in terms of setting/environment. Own access to beach just a walk away from our rooms. The only problem i feel is the lack of "professional service"...like I had to demand my original rooms I had booked. The bath towels had to requested to be changed due to poor quality of the 1st set. Too much noise in the mornings when one is trying to get some extra sleep. Music in the "lounge" area a bit too un holiday type (but that's my personal taste).

We arrived later in the evening at Zeranka Lodge; our room was a 2 bedroom/2 bath suite, very comfortable, clean, with good air conditioning. Kitchen service was finished, but the hostess offered to make sandwiches for us and we were able to buy drinks from the snack area in the office. Our breakfast was complete and very tasty, ready at the time we requested. Although we had planned to take a taxi back to the airport, the owner and her husband opted to drive us and made sure that we met the safari guide that we were hooking up with there. All in all it was a great place to stay; I wish we had been there long enough to enjoy the beach and any other amenities that may have been available.

The accomodation is nice located, especially if you want to spend some time along the Umhlanga beach. The house and garden were scruffy, the pool was really dirty. The breakfast wasn't very tasty. The owner was friendly and gave us some tips to do. We wouldn't stay there for a second time.
