Yunbo Youth Hotel (Urumqi High-speed Railway Station)

Overall, it was a great stay. The bed was quite clean and disposable toiletries were provided. The front desk service was excellent and very thoughtful, and they even have a very cute, chubby cat that you can pet.

It's located inside a residential complex. The Didi driver spent ages looking for it in the underground parking garage—it's actually much easier to find from the street level. The owner had a great attitude, and the hostel has cats plus a balcony with city views. However, the room cleanliness was pretty poor. Not sure if it's because someone lives there long-term or what, but the cleaning was extremely sloppy. On the first night, I noticed the room was overflowing with trash, including leftover take-out that had been sitting on the floor for days without anyone clearing it. To make matters worse, there was some discarded waste in the bathroom from someone using the toilet?? (even though the bathroom is next door). When I came back from exploring the next day, I found that while the main trash had been emptied, the take-out and scattered garbage were still untouched!!! It was genuinely unsettling.

The room is about 20 square meters, but the layout is not very practical. The sofa is placed in a way that makes it unusable, and there's no table. The room is only 2.6 meters wide, and with a 2-meter long bed, there's only about 50 centimeters of space left. There are no clothes hooks in the room. However, the service is good, the room is clean and tidy, and dining and shopping are convenient. It's a 1.5 km walk to the train station, or a 2.2 km taxi ride, but public transport isn't convenient. Check-out is at 2 PM, and you can store your luggage at the front desk. You can also rest at the front desk after checking out. The top floor offers amazing sunrise views, and safety is a priority.

The room offers great value for money, and its location is quite central with convenient transportation. There are also other room types available, suitable for single occupancy, and it has an indoor window.

The room had a spacious bed, hooks, shelves, a lamp, and outlets. The wash area, toilet, and shower were all separated, which was great for avoiding any awkward crowding. The common areas were lively, and the little cats were adorable. The elevator got a bit crowded during peak hours and stopped on every floor, but then again, the whole building is guesthouses.
