Stay away from it, even if the price is tempting! Bad and unfriendly service, dirty rooms, with mold and rust in the bathroom, everything stinks of drains and chlorine (probably meant to cover up the drain smell). In the bedroom you can always hear through the ventilation opening when someone nearby goes to the toilet, very unpleasant. The evening meal is just terrible, tastes worse than in a youth hostel, overall the whole hotel has more of a youth hostel feel to it. I don't know where this could even come close to 4 stars. Unfriendly, dirty, worn, no room cleaning (only after repeated requests is it cleaned), clearing up after dinner yourself (that's generally not a problem when I'm in a canteen and not in a 4 star hotel). We left early because we couldn't stand it any longer. The reception didn't care at all and so it will probably continue like this....

The Hotel "Grand Kapitan" in Ustronie Morskie (formerly Henkenhagen) near Kolberg in Poland has a good location a little away from the town center and close to the beach (300 meters). But in my opinion it doesn't deserve the 4 stars it is given. The restaurant area is far too cramped when it is full and has the character of a youth hostel, the food is often monotonous, sausage-heavy and not particularly tasty (lacks seasoning and pizzazz). Depending on the staff, the staff is sometimes friendly and helpful, sometimes disinterested. And currently (September 2023) there is a large (noisy) construction site for another hotel near the beach right next to the hotel's restaurant terrace. I wouldn't have booked there if I had known that. Our room (No. 310) on the third floor was equipped with a double bed (with a plastic sheet between the sheets (incontinence?), table, 2 chairs, desk, small fridge, TV with German channels, telephone, coffee machine (without capsules within easy reach) and red carpeting. There was a balcony with table and chairs with a view of a climbing park that had not been used for a good 3 years. The two elevators to the upper floors were surprisingly good. The bathroom had a narrow shower cubicle, toilet, sink, mirror, hairdryer and bar of soap. It was clean. We had booked a 5-day package with full board plus through Lidl. Plus meant that there was a drink with dinner (soda, beer or wine). Water could be taken from a fridge free of charge at all meals. The food was quite monotonous all day and rarely tasty. For breakfast there were rather soft rolls, toast, ready-made pancakes, jams, cheese, eggs, watery juices, coffee (only a slow machine), tea bags and a large selection of sausages. There were also yoghurts, apples and pears. Lunch was rather meager, and for dinner there was a "buffet" every evening with cabbage (always prepared a little differently), chicken legs, often meatballs and a type of belly meat (very fatty). There was also a starter soup (I preferred not to eat that), a cold salad and small pieces of cake for dessert (also always similar). You got full, but it lacked seasoning and a little more variety. You had to clear the table yourself. If you wanted a second helping, several guests often had to get up or pull their chairs over so that you could get through the cramped seating in the dining room. The "bar" advertised in the travel brochure turned out to be a drinks fridge in the dining room... Apparently another larger hotel has been under construction right next to the hotel since the start of the year. And another hotel diagonally across the street. The noise from the construction site could be heard from 7 a.m. on weekdays – especially in the dining room, which is directly adjacent to the construction site. Hotel nie spełnia standardów 4 gwiazdek. Jedzenie monotonne, niskiej jakości, z dyskontu. Pokój i stołówka posklejane taśmą, brak restauracji i baru – tylko lodówki z piwem. Strefa wellness to porażka: mały basen, zimne jacuzzi, jedna sauna, śmierdząca szatnia. Jacuzzi na dachu nie działa. All inclusive to żart – ograniczone godziny posiłków, fatalna kawa. Ukryte opłaty za parking, obsługa niemiła przy zgłaszaniu problemów. Nie polecam!
