Do NOT stay at this hotel! If you're visiting Varadero, make absolutely sure your hotel allows children. Even Ctrip couldn't confirm; it felt like they were just using customers as guinea pigs to figure things out. Our first booking at Grand Aston, which we'd paid for in advance, refused our check-in because we had a child. I was pregnant at the time, and after giving generous tips and pleading until nearly 10 PM, they reluctantly allowed us to stay for one night because we had nowhere else to go. The next day, this was the *only* hotel on the entire island, and the *only* one available online, that had rooms. So we booked it, not to mention the temporary price gouging.
What we got in return: cockroaches in the food, an extremely damp room, and cockroaches everywhere. There were even biting bugs in the bed. Despite it being an all-inclusive resort, the food was absolutely terrible; I wouldn't recommend it at all. It was so unappetizing that we literally couldn't eat it because it was so dirty. And the foreign guests reeked. Going out to eat was also a huge hassle.
Our room wasn't cleaned, and we didn't get fresh towels on the second day. After asking three times, we were told new ones would only be available the next day. It was truly infuriating. Seriously, China is great; if you want to experience something abroad, bring all your own personal necessities. Do NOT stay at this hotel, especially if you have kids – they will be even more miserable!
I didn't take photos of the many large cockroaches because the first instinct upon seeing one was to either kill it immediately or run away, as they're incredibly fast. Oh, and the elevators were constantly breaking down.

It was alright not amazing but not terrible
Entertainment during the day was good , nice swimming pool , food was not great but you can’t expect much , you in Cuba

Please do not waste your money
Pool is quite nice and the beach too and that’s about it
Food is garbage and I’m not a fussy eater

The hotel is nice, I like the natural plants on the main reception, rooms are big,however, I found the bathroom needs maintenance, the food at the buffet was OK for cuba, lobby entertainment team in the lobby was good.

Originally when I booked it I was told that I can check in by 2pm at the latest so we had to wait till almost 5pm so they take us to our room it was definitely what I've reserved so they took us back to the front desk and they gave another room which again wasn't what I paid for so we decided to stay in that room 2 hrs later my wife calls me and tells me that there wasn't no hot water and there where earth worms in the room so I was pissed so my wife and I met at the front desk I made a big seen and finally Ithey gave the room that I finally booked and paid for so now for the next issue the food first day it was good second day they served rotten beef the 3rd day we went next door to try there food wife and I walk over and there where birds flying in the restaurant so we where like ok we where about to get in li e to eat that's when we seen birds on the table eating out of people's plates that's when we got up and left I can go on and on about poor maintenance done to the rooms and hotel the few positive things where the bartender at the cigar bar he was great 4 stars to him pool bar had a great local band that was really good great staff except the front desk good beer and rum was the best thing there oh yehh bathrooms near the bar was really bad urine smell well I'm going to end it here definitely 1 star what a shame

No spaces with air conditioning for relaxing at the bar. The only space with air conditioning is at the main restaurant. At the beach you don’t have a close bar. Hard to have a cold drink at the beach. The plastic glasses at the beach are to small to take any drink at the beach.
The food at the restaurant is good and varied.
The beach and the water are amazing!
