Hotel Fontana has clean and comfortable rooms, delicious breakfasts, and a very friendly staff eager to provide restaurant recommendations and sightseeing tips or just to chat. It's only five minutes from St. Mark's Square and Basilica, the Doge's Palace, and a vaporetti station. A great find in Venice!

Looks a bit old, but is well kept and very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. A bit far from the train and bus stations, but very close to attractions and to water bus service.
Would stay there again.

Lovely hotel, friendly and very helpful staff, we had a beautiful beautiful room with a terrace and they have an elevator! Perfect location, very close to the ferry ports, St Marks Square. Very quiet at night. My husband and I had a wonderful time!

Nice area with plenty of shops and restaurants. It is a small hotel run by two cousins who were very pleasant and accommodating. the continental Breakfast was optional fee and was very good for the price

The staff was courteous and friendly. They agreed to move us out of our original room due to an odor in the bathroom overnight. They claimed nothing was wrong but when we checked it out again the odor was there. No coffeemaker in room. No coffee until 7:30 and only if you have free breakfast as part of your stay. Now that I have a better idea about Venice I would look at other options.

An efficiently managed hotel at the best possible location. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice, our two single rooms small but with everything at a very comfortable level and functioning. We had all the help we needed for recommendation as regards travel problems, finding the proper restaurant etc.

Love everything about this hotel! It is run by a family and they are very attentive to all your needs. It was a former convent so the rooms are all a little funky in a good way and since we booked directly with their website, we were immediately upgraded to a room with a huge terrace. The location is perfect - just enough off the Grand Canal to be quiet and yet with a lively bar and restaurant scene right out the door. Ask for a room at the rear of the hotel if you are sensitive to noise. The breakfast room is sweet and the selections varied. Best coffee of all the hotels we stayed in. I can't stress enough how wonderful the staff was. This is now my go-to hotel in Venice.
