a&o Venezia Mestre

The room was clean. Unfortunately the shampoos and bath gels were all empty. The laundry service was good. We stayed for 3 nights. Unfortunately there was fire alarm during 1st early morning at 2:30am and all guests used the stairs to evacuate .. We spend more than 2 hrs on the street waiting for the fire fighters to clear the situation before all guess were allowed to go back in.

The facilities of the hostel were great, especially the lounging area was comfortable enough to sit and wait if one had been early for the check-in time. However, when we checked into our room long after the official check-in time, the beddings of a bunk bed were not made. In fact, cover sheets and blankets of those beds were just laid there all messy and one even had holes in it (shown in the pictures provided below). That was not the only inconvenience, however. A fire alarm in the hostel had been activated at 3 am of August 11th randomly, which rang for at least two hours, but management and staff were not as competent when handling an emergency situation like that in my opinion. Guests of the hostel had to be waken up with a banging noise of alarm in the midst of their sleep and evacuated outside to stand still for 2 full hours with no explanation or compromisation. It has to be considered that all kinds of people are being hosted in this hostel, such as the elderly, the children, and also disabled people who cannot be put under that kind of stress and also deprivation of sleep. If compromisation of a late check-out was made with customers, it would at least compensate for the inconvenience it brought to people.

Great location! Walking distance from train/bus stations. Room wasn’t clean but was okay Breakfast option wasn’t too bad

Really convenient place to stay if you’re visiting Venice. The bus station is nearby, so getting to Venice was quick and easy. We also liked having a laundry, a bar, and a common area where you can just sit and relax. Self check-in and check-out made everything simple. We couldn’t get into the room before 3 PM, but that was the official check-in time, so no problem

It is near to the train station, and it is very easy to do self check in as I arrive late at the hotel. There is a TV in the room, so I can watch the fifa match as well.

It is close to the train station and filled with lovely youth with lots of fun activities. We enjoyed our stay.

A&O Venezia is located ~10 minutes from the train station and also ~5 minutes from the bus stop which takes you to the main island. Large building with a large working space and bar and offers free baggage storage which is nice of them. The bed is comfortable and big and the room is clean with air-con. The bed also has a small rack to place items and has both a charger and wall plug. However, the built-in charger seems out of date as it doesnt seem to have tje voltage to charge smartphones. So the wall plug is the only charging appliance. The toilet is clean and the shower comes with body wash + shampoo. However, it seems that there is a leak somewhere for the flooring. The whole toilet becomes wet after a shower and there is also a slight unpleasant smell.
