Hotel with an excellent view of the sea, opposite view (mountain) is an industrial area.
Hotel is next to a busy road (even at night), room with poorly soundproofed windows which did not allow for rest
Satisfactory buffet breakfast, but nothing special.
The swimming pool and gym belong to the Solinca Group, with internal access to the hotel and can be used several times.
To help, a football team was staying and on the last night they decided to celebrate in the lobby and in the rooms, to which the hotel staff were unable to provide the appropriate response to the problem, preferring discomfort and constant complaints from guests to resolving the situation.
I will not return to this hotel, there are other options that are quieter and more aimed at guests in this city.

They let me check in 30 minutes early, I booked a mountain view room, but they upgraded me to a sea view, I was very satisfied with the cleanliness and breakfast. Only the spa pool left a little to be desired, as many of the devices were out of order, but we had the added value of enjoying it as long as we wanted and without an appointment. I really liked the hotel.

I give 5-stars for this establishment for a number of reasons: 1. Friendly and well mannered employees. All employees (front desk, restaurant, housekeepers, window cleaners, etc) have positive energy. 2. Helpful employees in so many ways. 3. Respectfully of my accommodation. 4. Room is very clean and spacious with the most gorgeous views of the atlantic. 5. Food in the restaurant is delicious, scrumptious and healthy. Seafood is fresh. Variety of selections on breakfast buffet. 6. Host/hostess in the restaurant are all accommodating and respectful. 7. Customer service from the front desk, restaurant and housekeeping I will rate 5-star. 8. The ambiance of the establishment has a good vibe and calming. 9. Location of the hotel is perfect setting to relax and unwind. Based on my experience, Portuguese people, in general are fabulous and wonderful people. I would like to mention some names: Renata & Rodrigo (front desk), Elisa (restaurant) and Celmire (housekeeping). Thank you for being so accommodating, helpful and kind. Although I was not able to get all the names, I can say that everybody in Hotel Flor de Sal, I rate them all 5-star. I highly recommend this hotel/establishment.

Surprisingly great experience. The reception staff was wonderful and went beyond the call to help us when my husband got sick. True, the hotel is not located in a beautiful area, and didn't look like much from the outside - but WOW when you entered the expansive lobby you have a beautiful view of the sea. We are seniors, driving on our own, so were looking for a hotel that didn't involve negotiating the city streets, served breakfast and had free parking on site. It was raining hard when we arrived, so were pleased to know there is a restaurant there as well. It was a 4e Uber ride into the charming town center. Viana do Castelo is lovely. The hotel specializes in large groups (there were several well behaved young futbol teams there during our stay). The breakfast buffet was plentiful and diverse. We had a sea view room, with a balcony and two lounge chairs....if only the weather had been better!

Hotel with excellent location with view to the ocean and offering service of very good quality. Recommend staying in rooms with sea view! Nice area around to take a walk. Many interesting places to visit in the are.

I booked 2 nights at this hotel which had swimming pools for my children to enjoy. Total surprise when I find out that the pools do not belong to the hotel but to a gym and only one can be used by children. When I went down to use the pool there was an aqua aerobics class going on and they wouldn't let me use the pool! Unbelievable! Facilities seem out of use and outdated, rooms basic and worn out of time. I just stayed 1 night. Not worth the money. Family rooms are all to the parking spot. Disclaimer: This hotel does not have a pool, the ones it has are a partnership with a gym!

The hotel was very attentive to my reservation! My son forgot a plush and they promptly sent it to me the next day. And the breakfast is divine! A great experience. I intend to come back more often. The view of the beach is beautiful! It's worth a walk along the shore.

Hotel facing the sea. Very nice, well-equipped room, sea view terrace, well soundproofed. Very clean. Excellent restaurant and breakfast. Spa and fitness accessible free of charge. Very good value for money. City center 1 km accessible on foot.
