At the check-in, we were told that El Refugio would turn off the water supply for the room with the exemption of daily from 8-9, 12-13 and 17-18. It left us sweated but unshowered, not being able to flush the toilet nor rinse the mouth after cleaning the teeth. Asked for a discount, we were ignored but charged for full service. Full water service we found out is given to their clients just 10 minutes walk to a well know property. The rooms have a about 120 cm by 200 cm bed with a laid through cheap mattress. So is the other comfort, don’t expect an aiconditioner, nor a fridge in the room, nor fruits/meat/omelette provided at breakfast. Besides the water-restrictions at this refugio, we asked at the other hotel, weather they face similar problems. There we were told, that currently the properties have to buy the water from a cistern, which the other property does and provide to their bedroom guests. Seeing that the difference to a customer-orientated property is pricewise almost the same as the refugio, we feel highly disrespected. For almost the same money you could get a decent hotel instead of lacking in El Refugio Apart from that that there is no air-con, no fridge, barely running water times (see down below) from all of that, we found the stuff being very friendly, also the access to the beach is very nice.
