Spent three nights here. Location allows you to walk to Victoria Falls or the local town unlike most accommodation where you are bussed in. Rooms are spacious and pleasant with generous balconies and mini bars. Great wildlife viewing from here including hippos every night. The thing that lets the place down is the restaurant. We had dinner here on the first night. It was pretentious and the food was confusing - too many flavours (ostrich doesn't need popcorn and candied fruit on it!). We also had breakfast here. The food was uncovered and flies were all over it (hygiene aspects should be resolved at the price people are paying and it would be an easy win). The first day I had a piece of plastic in my drink and on the second day the juice had gone off. Also asked for a change to my breakfast order which they acknowledged and then didn't provide.

Truly beautiful hotel. The buildings and garden are delightful. Our room (number 64) and balcony were huge and we were lucky to see elephants, a rhino, baboons and mongoose in the gardens. Staff very polite. Food good. Very happy with our stay

We stayed 2 nights at this lodge which was beautiful but my review is about the staff. During our stay my mum had an accident outside of the hotel resulting in several trips to hospital and stitches for a large cut on her head. Jane, the manager was absolutely fantastic, she turned up at the hospital, collected prescriptions and was calm and efficient. Amy and Thande on reception were also fantastic. Waiters and room service looked after us and the laundry staff performed a minor miracle in getting the blood out of our clothing. We really don't know how we would have managed without them all, Thanks and gratitude

Brilliant location with it being only a 5 minute walk to Victoria Falls. The staff were extremely helpful and the food was excellent. There's a small watering hole on the grounds and in the 2 night we stayed there we saw elephants, Deer and hippos around it. We did white water rafting and the Bridge swing which was all organised by the hotel when we arrived. Would highly recommend.

Very good treatment of the staff, they pay indeed attention. Excellent position close to the falls. Remarkable breakfast and dinner. The lights at the restaurant should be better. We have a neighbor smoking at the balcony, it should be prohibited at all to smoke in the hotel or have a very specific place for it.

This was the final stop on my Globus tour of South Africa and Victoria Falls (I didn't do either of the 2 extensions). This lodge is very close to the absolutely stunning Victoria Falls as well as the 1 lane bridge that links Zimbabwe to Zambia. Also, if you want to mail something, it's within walking distance of a Zimbabwean post office (I like to mail postcards to various friends and family even though it cost $6 U.S. to mail 1 postcard from Zimbabwe). My room was immaculate though I felt there was a little bit of walk to get to the hotel restaurant. The restaurant does have a nice breakfast buffet as well as bar where I got to enjoy a Zambezi lager (it was a decent beer). One interesting thing about Victoria Falls is that various animals may wander through town and around the hotel. When I stayed at this lodge, a baboon actually climbed on top of the lodge roof. Another time, I saw an antelope looking thing munching away on the lodge lawn. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was decent though I used either the tour bus or twice caught a taxi to and from the bridge (I wanted to do a quick dash over to Zambia and had paid the extra $10 U.S. for a multiple entry Zimbabwean visa). Overall, I had a very nice stay at this lodge and seeing the fabulous Victoria Falls was 1 of the highlights of my tour.

We had a wonderful 3 days ar Ilala, the location is perfect for The Falls, other activities and going to the ahops in Town. There is a lovely pool/relaxing area for the in between times with sunbeds and 2 cabanas. I couldn't fault anything, the food, staff, rooms were all lovely - I would highly recommend.
