Wailea Beach Resort - Marriott, Maui

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the sea, and many rooms offer great sea views. There are supermarkets and shops right behind the hotel, which is super convenient. They also have a dedicated parking garage. However, some staff members were not very competent, and the check-out process was incredibly slow.

The views are unbeatable, and the hotel facilities are decent, though the rooms are a bit dated. The restaurant food is alright, but once was enough. There aren't many other dining options, and finding Chinese food on the island is a real struggle!

On my first night, I was woken up early by the frequent dragging of chairs from the room upstairs. Although I managed to switch rooms after complaining, I feel the hotel must have known about this issue with the original room. It's really upsetting that they assigned it to me, especially since I specifically requested a quiet room. As for the other facilities, they're typical for a resort; don't expect luxury hotel standards. The highlight is definitely the beautiful scenery, especially on a clear day – the sunset is absolutely stunning.

This is a hotel with beautiful scenery, but I will never return. Chinese tourists should choose carefully. The service was terrible, from breakfast to the room to the front desk to customer service. It was a kind of discrimination that you couldn't quite describe but could deeply feel. I booked a room for 3 PM check-in, and arrived a little early. When I checked in, a white woman typed a few things on her computer and said it was broken, telling me to go to the counter next to her. The counter next to her was for Asian staff, probably Filipinos. As soon as I went over, her computer was fixed, and she immediately smiled and served another white group. Then, when I checked in, the front desk said they had upgraded my room, which surprised me. Later I found out why! After checking in at the front desk, they said the room wasn't ready yet and they would send me a message when it was, and they took my phone number. But by 3 PM, no one had responded. I went back to the front desk, and they said the room was ready and they gave me the key. But what happened to the promised text message notification?! Carrying my luggage to the room door, a pungent stench hit me. There was a large hairdryer outside my room, probably to absorb the odor. I almost vomited. I quickly went into the room, but the stench still seeped in through the cracks in the door. Because I was carrying two large suitcases and thought the smell might improve after we finished absorbing the odor, and we were going out to eat anyway, I was really too lazy to change rooms, so I didn't ask for one. However, the stench persisted for the two days I stayed. Then I realized why they said they upgraded my room type—nobody wants to stay in such a disgusting room! And what's more! My neighbor next door, also having to endure the stench, was also a fellow Chinese! What a coincidence! A hotel with hundreds of rooms, less than 2% of which are occupied by Chinese people, and they just happened to be right next door?! As for the subsequent breakfast—waiting an hour for the coffee I ordered, having my room key expired and having to go back to the front desk to swipe it again—I really can't be bothered to go on about it. In short, the experience was terrible.
