We loved Hihgland Lodge. Room and bed and furniture very comfortable, all is clean, staff is welcoming and friendly and remember your name. Food is delicious! Dinner choices available--our group of 4 had about every dish during the 3 nights we were at the Lodge. Breakfasts were amazingly good--loads of fresh fruit and home made yogurt and granola every day and then alternating French Toast, Berry Crumble, quiches, croissant souffles. Good coffee, hot chocolate and tea. Also cold cereal variety. Nordic trails around the Lodge are really fun and Craftsbury Outdoor Center with its trails is a 12km ski away or a 15 minute drive by car. Cannot wait to go back!

Very nice charming place to stay in Northeast Vermont. The owner Elsa is very accommodating. Breakfast is great and dinner is excellent with joyful atmosphere! Comfortable rooms and a lot to do 15 minutes drive all around. Definitely a place I recommend! Nous avons adoré notre séjour! Lise Daneau et Michel Dufour

This is a charming and old Vermont lodge with views of Lake Caspian. We had an affordable and delightfully spacious bedroom. The lodge Is kept diligently clean and everyone is super hospitable on all fronts. Being decorated for fall made for photo ops as well. I hear the cabins are newly renovated.

Upon arriving, the girl at the front desk did not greet us warmly, she just continued sitting and told us to go check in to our cabin. There were zero TVs in the cabin and very little WiFi signal. The bathroom was dirty with cobwebs and the entire cabin was lopsided and had an awful smell. There was zero personal touches I was expecting from a cute B&B. We dined there on Thursday which was the first day of the week for their kitchen and they were out of chicken and potatoes (which obviously meant they didn’t prepare/order properly). I ordered a steak medium well and received a very under medium rare. The bar drinks were delicious though and the view was gorgeous. Never heard from the owners or any staff while there. It would be a good place to go for anyone wanting to unplug- just avoid the cabins as they are in serious need of upkeep.

Lovely, small, old-world type hotel, conveniently located with good parking. Clean. Superb breakfast.

The property is old and quirky which we enjoyed.
There is lovely scenery and enjoyable walks on the doorstep.
Food in the restaurant was good although options were limited as it was the last evening before a seasonal closure.

This was our 4th time staying at Highland Lodge in the summer. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning. We had 3 nights booked but left after the first night mostly due to bad weather. However there were a lot of other things that contributed to our decision. Our cabin- Grace. Permanent stains on the rug. Bathroom needed a renovation and towels need an upgrade. The windows- sills loaded with dead bugs. (The bed was comfortable with quality linens.) Each cabin given only one Adirondack chair to sit outside ( usually 2) And of course, no WiFi or TV which wouldn’t have been an issue if the weather was nice. I just didn’t feel comfortable in my cabin. We had a very nice dinner at the main Inn but the breakfast was disappointing. They must have staffing issues like most everywhere these days. Tables not wiped down, waited for coffee to be refilled, was told they didn’t have artificial sweetener. The breakfast frittatas were OK . The blueberry muffins were dense. We both remember it being better in the past. We also remember there being entertainment at night which was fun. Other than trivia ( which should have been moved to inside on a raw rainy night) nothing doing. Just seemed the shine and fun of the place has waned

Sweet, friendly, comfortable place. Not fancy but special in the best ways. The room in the lodge was spacious, very comfortable huge bed, nice bathroom. Dinner was delicious and reasonably priced. Breakfast had limited options but fruit yogurt and muffins were just what I wanted and outstanding. The lake is so close and there are all kinds of fun outdoor things within 20-40 minutes. I will be back!

Room was uncomfortable in July with no AC and only a tiny window fan. No TV in room. Difficult to sleep. Otherwise quiet and pretty surroundings.
