I stayed during the off-season. Although Ctrip upgraded my room, it was still quite cramped. As a solo traveler, my first-floor room faced directly onto the staff work area. I didn't dare open the curtains due to a lack of privacy and security. The courtyard felt like a wasted space. The front desk claimed this was already an upgraded room. I didn't have breakfast, as it wasn't included. Later, I paid an extra hundred yuan or so to stay at Le Méridien Shimei Bay. In terms of value for money, Huajianpo was just okay. Its biggest advantage is its excellent location and convenient parking. You can walk straight out to the beach. Riyue Bay feels very modern and youthful, though it's not very large. The pool was a bit of a waste. It was deserted both day and night, with no guests by the poolside. Those buying drinks at the bar were all in the outer area. If a guest sat inside, they wouldn't be able to see the dancing, so I felt I'd look silly sitting by the pool alone. They should really offer a cocktail voucher to encourage guests to gather, spend some money, and liven up the atmosphere. Otherwise, this pool is truly underutilized.
