I stayed at the Splash Inn for two weeks February & March. This was my first visit to Roatan and after doing a bit of research selected the Splash Inn as their All-Inclusive package seemed like a good value. The package includes three boat dives a day as well as accommodations and three meals a day. With the meals you get one beverage non or alcoholic. With diving I could only do alcohol for dinner, so I always got a large bottle of water for breakfast and lunch which was enough to keep me in water for the whole trip. Accommodations are basic but extremely clean and well maintained. Rooms have A/C and I had a fridge in mine. The WIFI was excellent both in the rooms and public areas. I was very impressed by the constant cleaning and maintenance that was always going on. I can’t say enough about the staff be it in the hotel, restaurant or dive operation, 100% engaged with patrons and always helpful. You can tell a lot about how a property treats its staff by watching the moral and interaction between the staff and owners. It was clear the staff enjoyed the work there. I am not sure what I was expecting on the food side of things, but I was certainly impressed by the quality of the meals. If anything, the servings were too large, but I know with diving some people can consume a lot. You will not go hungry. I did skip a few meals so I could try out some of the other options nearby which were plentiful and all I had were very good. The dive operation is right next door to the restaurant, (my room was above the restaurant so very handy). Across the road from the dive shop and hotel is the pier where the dive boats are so everything is easy. They have lockers for storing your gear. Before and after diving the dive masters load and set up most of your gear while you take care of mask, fins, wet suits and cameras. There are two morning dives with the surface interval at the dive shop while they swap tanks, and you rehydrate. After lunch is the third dive and a few times a week they may do a night or other optional dive. I did 36 dives over 13 days that I could dive, taking the middle day off to relax and explore. I dove with Tuna, Sterling and Geraldo all of them consciences and focused on providing excellent service. Safety was always a must and they do things right. I had hurt my back a few days before arriving and as such had to take my gear off in the water which creates extra work for the staff, but they were always “no problem” although I did feel guilty causing extra work. This trip was as convenient as a liveaboard but with the bonus have having shore activities. I highly recommend the Splash Inn and would not hesitate to stay here again.
