I stayed at Widbrook Grange for one night during a business trip and had a fantastic experience. I booked a cosy double room, and while it was on the smaller side (as expected), it was absolutely perfect for what I needed. The room was spotless — the bed and bathroom were both immaculately clean, and the pillows were so fluffy and comfortable, making for a really relaxing and restful stay. The staff were brilliant. Everyone I spoke to was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. One of the team even kindly carried my bag for me, which was a lovely touch. Their warm attitude really made a difference. I also made use of the swimming pool, which was excellent — a real bonus after a long day. It’s a real shame I was only there for one night, as it was such a lovely stay. I would absolutely recommend Widbrook Grange and would love to return for a longer visit next time!

Disappointed, especially with the room (Piggery no 7) - the bathroom was in poor condition and smelt unpleasant. Feedback was shared with the staff whilst I was there and a promised response from the General Manager has been a week in the waiting! Spoilt what should have been a celebratory birthday weekend. In summary, room bore no resemblance to those represented on the website.

Widbrook Grange is a reminder of the more fabulous aspects of English life. The inclusivity and acceptance of change. The cheerfulness in a bit of dowdiness. Laughing at life. They seriously DO welcome dogs. The grounds and rooms are a very interesting combination for pets. The standard menu is great and is accompanied by some very reasonably priced wines. The multitude of gins was not really our thing but fun for lots of folk. One tiny request. Please get a Scrabble set? Preferably an old, wooden one! A wonderful two night stay. Thank you!!

Very disappointed, menus in room out of date so food we had looked forward to was unavailable. Olives and bread on room menu was £8.50 but on paying the new menu had bread as £7.00 and olives tucked away in extras at £4.50, sneaky. The music system in the conservatory was broken and as dog owners we were on our own for a few meals..all coffee/tea and condiments in main restaurant so you have to go and get yourself. The cleaning wasn’t very good, no bed linen changed in the time we stayed, the shower head dirty, mould around bath..the gin menu not updated so choices made they did not have. The dog wash was a dirty tin bath full of rubbish. Conservatory chairs stained. We wanted to leave early but the team couldn’t confirm if we could have a refund as the General Manager was on holiday. This was supposed to be a luxury boutique spa hotel, to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and husbands up and coming 60th birthday.

Hughly recommend High tea at Widbrook Grange. Traditional tiered high tea service (did have a bite of the salmon finger sandwich before thinking to take a photo) with large pots of tea or coffee in a fabulous rural setting with historic Bradford-on-Avon township just 5 minutes away. Very competitively priced & absolutely worth it.

Enjoyed a fabulous stay for my birthday. It was lovely to be upgraded, thank you. Really comfy beds and the TV was easy to use. Super clean and the whole atmosphere of the place was relaxing. I couldn’t believe I got the swimming pool all to myself. The cleaner was super nice too, and the welcome by the gentleman at reception was appreciated. I have told all my girl friends to book a ‘staycation’ here (we live in Bath). I thought the price was extremely reasonable when booking through yourselves to enjoy the free breakfast too. I’ll be back! Only thing I could add would be to implement a possible Wi-Fi booster to some corners of the property. But even that’s not a biggie. Really needed that stay - wish I could have stayed longer. Thank you!!

Widbrook Grange was chosen by us for its online vegetarian and vegan menus, which turned out to be non existent when requested. Very limited choice for vegans or vegetarians on the main menu. The vegan dish of a French sounding spring vegetable soup was one of the most awful things I've ever had put in front of me - soggy aubergine and courgette, woody asparagus and other veg. At £22!! The glass of prosecco I ordered was completely flat. It didn't seem that there was a chef in house, never mind a competent cook. No dessert, just wanted to get out of there. Breakfast was equally disastrous - no vegan pastries or wholegrain cereals, not even vegetable spread for the toast. Horribly worn table and surroundings. The hotel itself was not without its good points - useful advice on making the phone booking with a female member of staff; pleasant check in; pretty flower arrangements; outside seating areas; good for dogs; lovely comfortable bed and very good bed linen. But oh my, the grounds were littered with tumbledown buildings and rusting farm machinery, and the room itself was crying out for less clutter. A stained tailor's dummy and the bath in the main room didn't impress. Dirty tiles in the shower room. In the dark hallway, the ceiling light shade was a cheese grater! The place cries out for investment and a revamp. Not shabby chic, just shabby. Definitely no return visit.

Our son gifted us a voucher for Christmas that treated us to dinner, bed and breakfast at Widbrook Grange. From start to finish it was a super experience, like staying in a friend’s country home. The house is decorated in a shabby chic, quirky style with use of upcycled antiques and cosy nooks. I loved that they lit candles around the house from early evening and it was easy to imagine people living there in Georgian times. All the staff that we came across were more than helpful, friendly and professional. Nothing was too much for them and they genuinely seemed to love working there. Our room was beautifully decorated, clean and bright with everything you would hope for in the area of toiletries, iron, hairdryer, tea and coffee. The bed was enormous, very comfy with high quality, soft linen. The bathroom was immaculate with the best rainfall shower I’ve experienced. It was either brand new or their chamber maids need a raise for their excellent cleaning! Both dinner and breakfast were freshly cooked to order and tasted like excellent home cooking. I don’t mean that in a disparaging way - the food was delicious and well presented. Before dinner we enjoyed a tipple from their quirky Gin Bar and both agreed that it was a lovely added extra. The grounds are gorgeous with lots of little seating areas and unusual sculptures dotted about the place. We saw a wedding while we were there and it seemed idyllic. The staff seemed excited to be able to provide a perfect day for the couple. We would definitely recommend this lovely gem of a hotel and would love to go back there again.

I'll begin with the positive. The food was great, presented nicely and hot although the menu doesn't change daily. Now, to the not so good. We were in the Artist room, (room 6) which is advertised as a superior double. Sadly this is far from superior. Apart from the bed being comfortable with good quality bedding, that is the only positive we can find. Where to start.... wardrobe: impossible to hang anything due to the nature of the hanger/rail arrangement. No drawer space for clothes so for the time we were there we had to leave our clothes in the case. There is a desk/dressing table which had 2 small drawers which my husband put his medication in only for it to drop straight through. I sat to dry my hair using the mirror above and I could only see the top of my head. The carpet is not clean and there was no heating despite being told that the heating would be on at 6pm. The windows are all cloudy so can't see out. Now to the bathroom: no blind to the window, so we resorted to putting a towel up. No grab rail for the shower and nowhere to put toiletries while in the shower other than the floor which is not ideal.
