West Bay

Never been in a hotel as bad as this in my life. You pay €166 per night and this is what you get in return: - rats walking down the poolside. This prevented us from lying quietly by the pool. We were also unable to open the window of our room resulting in a hot room. Too bad there is no air conditioning, so during hot summer days you have a problem; - there are mouldy spots on the pillowcase; - the double bed is small and consists of two small thin mattresses so you are not comfortable; - for a five-night stay for two people, there are four towels in the room and two rolls of toilet paper on arrival. If you need new ones of these, you pay an extra €10 per night. Also, the room is not refreshed unless you pay €10,- euro extra. This is NOT mentioned when booking this accommodation; - there is not enough crockery. For example, there is only one wine glass and there are no forks; - if an emergency occurs after 19:00, there is no staff at the hotel. If you call the emergency number, you are antisocially spoken to by someone from Ostend who can't do anything for you and you just have to report to reception the next morning. The next morning we went to reception and could NOT be helped because there is no supervision (are there unskilled staff behind the reception desk??) and should come back again the next day.

Nice enough for a couple of nights and what I expected for the price. The staff were nice however the bar closed very early and there was no where to get any drinks as the vending machine was card only. There are quite a few extras you need to pay for as well, a travel cot is 13.50 a night, parking is 6.50 a day and even coffee pods in the room were 0.50 a pod.

There was zero service. We saw no staff for the length of our stay. reception was closed throughout. Although breakfast is advertised as starting at 8am, when we arrived at the property and checked this we found out that breakfast had to be booked by 5pm the previous day. This was written in small type on a 'welcome' note. So no breakfast. The photos & description of the property imply that it is close to the beach. It isn't! Its at least 1/2 mile away across a busy road.
