As soon as you walk through the door this wonderful hotel gives you a ‘warm hug’. The decor and furnishings are beautiful all the way through from the reception area, to the lounge, dining/breakfast room, stairway and room. We didn’t arrive until late on a Friday evening and Sally had very kindly already worked out that our journey time would have been about 2.5 hours and after such a long drive we would probably be too tired to go out and find somewhere to eat, so she arranged for the kitchen to stay open a bit later so we could eat in their restaurant. Sally even took our bag up to our room so we could head straight to the restaurant. The food and service was absolutely first class and I can see why non residents go there to eat. Whilst at our table Sally came over to us to say she had noticed how tall my partner was (6ft 6”), so she had upgraded us to a room with a larger bed free of charge. Our room had everything we could ask for, beautiful bedding, lovely toiletries and fluffy towels and bath robes. The lounge area is so inviting and comfortable and you can order your drinks from there, so no need to stand and order at a bar. We sat in the lounge with the owners (Sally and Joanna) and listened to their story about the refurbishment of the hotel. Their hard work and passion for the place has really paid off. Breakfast is included in the price and was delicious, with plenty to choose from. All the staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you and the food the chef turns out is second to none. Would we go back? Yes, in a heart beat.

We booked here last minute, and so glad we did! We are regular visitors to Sheringham but we've never been to this part or knew this lovely hotel existed. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was huge and immaculate. We had booked Sunday lunch for our arrival and it was amazing, the food, service and surroundings you can't fault. The hotel is just a short walk away from the main centre but quiet when you return. The beds are comfy and we both slept really well. Just a couple of tiny constructive criticisms; - for this high end hotel delivery and price, a coffee machine is a nice touch. Kettles are a bug bear of mine - we were disappointed that the garden bar was closed on the Sunday evening, the only night we stayed and the hotel was like a ghost town from the late afternoon onwards! We usually like to eat and drink where we stay. But otherwise we had a fabulous stay and would definitely return!

The hotel is a beautiful hotel with a lovely garden with a garden nar where you can go for a drink in the early evening and catch the last of the sun. The rooms were impeccably furnished and decorated and had lovely linen bed wear together with white thick fluffy towels! We didn’t see a great deal of Joanna but Sally was a very lovely host and nothing was too much for her. There is just one word for the food that they serve both breakfast and Sunday lunch – excellent. Would definitely go back there again.

A really nice place to stay, lovely and clean, quiet, near to the sea, town, station, etc. Good parking. The evening meals are expensive.

An absolute joy of a place and Sally and Joanna make it special. Wasn't quite sure what the description "boutique hotel" really meant but if this it - count us in. Everything lovely and clean and tidy; Good choice of well presented and freshly cooked breakfast (fresh fruit might be a nice addition . Ideal location and just round the corner to tzown centre and the wonderful Little Theatre. No hesitation in returning

We eat regularly at the wonderful restaurant of this lovely hotel and I felt compelled to write this review in response to the dreadful limited allergy/intolerance awareness review below. My husband is severely allergic to peppers and all their derivatives and intolerant of all nightshades (tomato, potato and aubergine). The care and detail that Joanna, Matt and the team go to to ensure he has an excellent experience each time we dine is second to none and is one of the reasons we choose to return. We were dining on the day of the incident detailed in the review. Never have we witnessed such appalling, entitled behaviour by one guest in a restaurant - all of which was dealt with professionally and courteously by the team.

What a fabulous boutique hotel! A very comfortable 2 night stay in a beautifully tastefully decorated environment. The Strand Suite was light and spacious with big sash windows letting in the sea air. Everything you would expect was catered for although a bit surprised that clean towels daily were not on offer without a charge. We understand why but at the moment it's 2 showers a day, so it would have been nice during this heatwave. Bedding superb although and nice decorative touches around the room with separate sitting area with armchairs in front of a huge TV! The pillows were on the firm side. Last breakfast sitting was 9.15 which is unusually early and came as a surprise. Very promptly served without issue, the most delicious food with more unusual offerings as well. We would have liked to have had multigrain brown toast rather than plain wholemeal. There is not a lounge/bar but the garden bar area is sunny and perfect to wind down in with a cocktail or two. Free parking which was nice having recently been charged to park in a hotel car park!

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Burlington Bertie’s. Stayed in the Shaftesbury Suite this time which was a very large room with a separate seating area, windows to 3 aspects which made the room beautifully airy & light, exceptionally individually appointed with a bathroom to match. The garden bar was delightful with a focus on locally produced beers & a carefully chosen wine list and of course their own North 42 Gins. Breakfast choices catered for everyone. I could eat the smoked haddock everyday if I could ! Looked after so well. A real home from home. If you are thinking of staying in Sheringham don’t consider anywhere else. Exceptional value for money when you compare the cost charged by far inferior local establishments. Thank you.

We had never visited Sherringham before,so decided on Burlington Berties check in was straight forward enough although paying upfront as soon as you've walked through the door seemed a bit odd.Not the best first impression,Our room was quite small and overlooked the lawns which had seating and a cocktail bar which was very pleasant, however it was directly in eyeline of our room,so when we showered or changed etc we were having to constantly pull the curtains so as no one caught sight of us!The room at £180 pound a night seemed slightly high given these small negatives.Saturday night evening meal was very nice, exceptional food and one lady in the restaurant seemed genuinely nice. The area is quiet and we did have a lovely stay although didn't feel quite as looked after as we could have been ,more interaction with all guests would have been the icing on the cake .
