Spacious twin room and comfy beds with a peaceful view facing the golf course. clean towels and hot shower. ample free car parking spaces outside the hotel. breakfast was good.

Stayed one night on the way to the lake district, at the Golf Club Hotel. The hotel environment is very good, but the facilities are too old. The hot and cold taps in the wash basin are still separate. The toilet did not pump water at first. No one answered the phone at 9:30 pm. I repaired it myself and it barely worked. The bathroom exhaust fan sounded like a tractor, and the hair dryer was the most old-fashioned one fixed in the drawer. The carpet was dirty and the bed made me itchy all over.

Short break
A relaxing stay in a very peaceful location, handy for the surrounding area and coast. Nice hotel tho it could do with some updating. Bedroom furniture is old and dated, no USB sockets and in our room (18) the washbasin had a major crack in it, thankfully it didn’t leak. There was one comfy chair, but as a retired couple a second would have been nice rather than one sitting on the desk chair or the bed.
Food was ok, we had fish and chips the first evening, I had to ask for the mushy peas to be heated as they were cold, the fish, while a good size was extremely greasy. Breakfast was fine as was dinner on our second evening. Staff were friendly and helpful.
