While this place is a decent enough hotel, it's by no means a 5 star hotel, 4 at best. Go down the road to Powerscourt and they'll show you what a 5 star hotel is. Came home yesterday after 2 nights there. Room was lovely. Food was fab on our first night in the garden rooms, 2nd night was OK. No flavour whatsoever from the orrichiette pasta, just pure bland. Breakfast on both mornings was just lousy. Food in the hot holds were stone cold. Said it to the manager, but it was still the same the next morning. Opted for the porridge instead, that was basically gruel. There are too many bad reviews on TripAdvisor about the breakfast, that you would think the head chefs would actually do something to correct this issue. Something this hotel is missing, between breakfast and lunch, is a coffee bar. I love a flat white or a cortado. I went looking for a coffee after breakfast had finished but there was nowhere to get one. I had asked the concierge where I could get one and he was willing to and try and get one for me, I told him it was fine because it actually sounded like hard work. That's not on him, he was lovely, I didn't want him to be going out of his way for just a coffee. All that lobby space going to waste, you'd be cleaning up with a coffee bar/menu. I had to go all the way into town just to get a decent cuppa. Booked into the spa, had a lovely guy do my treatments on me, I cannot remember his name but he was just wonderful. An absolute delight and amazing at his work. Pool was fine too, my son had a great time both mornings in it. When we were in the elevator yesterday morning heading for breakfast, it suddenly kept slamming like it was about to go into free fall. It did this 3 times and scared the living daylights out of myself and my son. Went to reception about, they didn't seem too bothered. My son for the rest of the day and since we got home has not stopped talking about how frightened he was in the lift. My son is autistic and this triggered him a great deal. Maybe in future, if something like that happens again, you go out of your way to make sure your guests are actually OK instead of saying "Oh sorry about that". I definitely would not be in a rush back.

Fantastic, the staff who work at this hotel make this place so special. They are kind and caring and genuinely love their job. The food is delicious, rooms are some of the best we have been in for a family stay. We had a interconnecting bedroom for our family of 5. Breakfast was beautiful, continental and hot, but extras to choose from on the menu. Fabulous- a beautiful location and place. Really enjoyed our stay from start to finish. We used the pool with the kids and there was music in the bar in the evening. I will definitely recommend to family and friends nd I know we will be back with our very keen golfers, who just couldn’t fit a game in this time around.

It was ok. if you are a golfer you must love Glen and heath. But the hotel is outdated and definitly not a 5 star standard.

Great staff, made the xperience lovely. Got upgraded which was lovely touch. Drain smell ruined the nights stay though. Staff did respond but not expected at the price of the room.

This was a really mixed experience for us. First, the good points. The beds were really comfortable. The place was clean. We enjoyed the food at breakfast. Some staff were friendly and helpful, such as Emma and Freya at breakfast. There is a nice walk on the grounds with a map provided. We enjoyed the gym in the health centre. This place is very popular with families with young children. I would not recommend for adults or couples if you are hoping for a more adult oriented experience. Great if you like or have young children. Unfortunately, this might have been a 5 star hotel many years ago but isn’t now. The furniture in the bedroom is tired. It needs updating. No robes or slippers as advertised. Mixed service from staff. Some friendly, others grumpy and unwelcoming. We were a party of 3. We were placed each morning at a table sized for 2 and we had to request a bigger table each morning. Whilst this was accommodated we felt that their preference was to squeeze us in. They claim to have a bar. In my opinion they don’t. They have a restaurant and second more casual eating area. All the tables are reserved and set up for diners. The bar is actually a few high chairs around the bar serving area. We ended up having a drink in the foyer. You can not charge anything to your room. Doesn’t seem 5 star if you have to pay as you go. If you read other reviews and manager’s feedback it is clear the hotel knows it has issues.

Stunning hotel! We were given a complimentary upgrade to one of their which are absolutely stunning! Living room area with cosy fire, bedroom and a huge bathroom and walk in wardrobe. Lovely warm and clean swimming pool. The grounds are stunning the kids loved exploring. Food was delicious! Breakfast and the dinner was stunning. Lastly and definitely not least the staff were always so friendly even with the crazy bunch of kids in tow.

Excellent hotel, rooms and guest facilities are spacious and well laid out and the food across the bars and restaurants cannot be faulted in anyway, plenty of choice and clearly well sourced ingredients and suppliers.

Great staff in all areas of the hotel! Keith in the bar area, Linsey at front desk and many others were amazing. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable, other reviews talk to run down items but I did not notice anything wrong during my stay. The food and beverage are excellent along with everything priced appropriately. The grounds are beautiful as well, including two fun golf courses.
