Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Salisbury

I needed a place for one night, not far from Ocean City, MD, for an early morning departure to participate in the Maryland Bike Festival. The room was nice and clean.

Actually staff was very helpful and courteous, except for the check-in agent. She told me we would not be able to enter the 2nd room we had booked and paid for on my credit card. The reason? I had listed my wife's sister Marie as one of the two occupants of the 2nd room. Marie could not make the trip, so we brought another sister in her place. The attendant looked at me blankly and said only Marie could be checked in, no changes were possible. Fortunately another agent overheard the conversation and told the first agent to just change the name. I can only put this in one category -- total lack of courtesy and respect for your customers!

Upon arrival, front desk staff was not terrible but not very welcoming. Spoke very quietly when relaying info regarding stay. Hallways leading to 2nd floor room were carpeted and could use a vacuum. Room was ok. Floor in room was hardwood and not cleaned well at all. Specs of dirt, wrappers under bed and 2 rubber hair bands in bathroom but otherwise, okay. Pillowcase on one of the beds looked like it was picked up off floor after changing bc there was a black dust stain on one of pillows. Coffee at breakfast bar was luke warm. Poured coffee then waited on my mom to come down and still no one at front desk to let them know we were checking out so magnetic keys were left on desk. Overall Id say it was ok if you are just looking for a place to sleep, otherwise, stay somewhere else for the price of this place. I have stayed at them Hampton Inn in Fruitland and regret not staying there after paying the deposit fee and room fee (deposit fee should be reimbursed but still waiting on that refund). Rooms at Hampton Inn in Fruitland were much cleaner, common areas much cleaner, staff a lot more engaging and food there was much more to be desired than at the Microtel.

I reserved a room through a third party, but when I arrived, the hotel standard was to add another $100 to the bill as a hold. So I had to allow them to add it to my room bill or I wouldn’t be able to get a room. Very confusing and misleading. The front desk person told me verbally that the money will be back on my card as soon as I checked out. But, the paperwork I had to sign said 5-6 business days. It was a Friday evening, so I won’t really get my money back until the following week.

The hotel is a mini version of a hotel. The condition of the hotel was satisfactory. The room was fine but the toilet paper holder was ripped off the wall.

No real complaints. The room was clean minus the dead flies that could’ve been clean or taken care of during the cleaning of the room.

My Stay Was Great! I’ve been thru the ringer with hotels lately & Microtel was definitely the best I’ve stayed with.

We stayed 2 nights and our room was not cleaned. They removed our dirty towels, removed our trash from the trash can, never gave us clean towels, and never gave us a new bag for the trash can and did not make our bed or clean our room. Had to go to the office late our 2nd day to get clean towels and mention that our room was never cleaned or restocked. Staff was apologetic but it was too late to have serviced.

We are in the room right next to the lobby. It sounds like there is a party in the lobby, kids running up and down the hallway. As well, the ice machine is next to our room and we can here it when someone gets ice.
